Blood Blockade Battlefront is getting an anime. The manga was created by Yasuhiro Nightow, the creator of Trigun.
Available on FUNimation. Watch it here: Blood Blockade Battlefront

A breach between Earth and the netherworlds has opened up over the city of New York, trapping New Yorkers and creatures from other dimensions in an impenetrable bubble. They've lived together for years, in a world of crazy crime sci-fi sensibilities. Now someone is threatening to sever the bubble, and a group of stylish superhumans is working to keep it from happening.

This sounds very interesting. And it's set in New York? Hmmmmm...... I really hope they make a dub for it because I generally like to watch dubs if it makes more sense for the characters to speak english.

There are about 5 or 6 volumes out in the US so I think there should be enough information for a 2 cour series.

Those staff choices make me happy. Staff, author, studio. It all points to a good show.

Now I have to put my anti-hype cap on and wait.

My thought process as I was finding out about this for the first time:

BONES: Favorite studio doing a manga adaptation next year? Awesome!
Rie Matsumoto Directing: Kyousougiga's director isn't at freaking Toei anymore, but with BONES? What a miracle!
Trigun Creator: Haven't seen Trigun, but I know the pedigree. Sweet.
Mamoru Miyano: Favorite male VA in on this project?!? All it needs is Kana Asumi to be perfect.

(& the character designer is no slouch either)

From what I've seen, there are a few number of adults in the cast, too, which is very welcome.

This is like the perfect recipe for an awesome anime.

Bones Studio
Creator of Trigun
And hot damn that cast.

Only way this can get any better is if Funimation gets it and give it a dub on the same level as Baccano!. I mean, it's set in New York and all.

How did I fail to get hyped for this show sooner?!

Wow. I was interested in this to begin with, but that lasted pv just looked awesome.
Hopefully CR or Funi get this. I'd be annoyed if it got orphaned or netflixed.

Alright, regarding the streaming rights, this is going to be a 50/50 imo between Funimation/CR. Rumor has it that it may be a 2 cour by Bones but it may be unlikely given their lineup. (if they announce One Punch Man, which is unlikely, this will most certainly be 1 cour) Bone apparently also has another series called "Show By Rock" for Spring; that leaves room for just one series.

Anyways, I'll be following this show pretty closely for Spring. There are 7 manga volumes (ordering the remaining ones soon) since apparently, Dark Horse decided to license it and that removes most chapters on the web. Hell, there are only four chapters I could find and the one shot. Anyways, I highly recommend giving this show a try and here's why:

The premise has a lot of potential with a wonderful cast of characters in an urban setting with supernatural concepts revolving around a dark story. And with events going on, there are also mysteries relating to the past including a powerful group known as the...*read the manga yourself to find out although they will be introduced early if this adaptation is faithful*. There's not much characterization yet but there are many foreshadowings. And the MC isn't a weakling or some shit but actually quite reliable with a tough personality but also caring for his comrades. There are actually at least several main characters though, but it's not like in Baccano format as the story has more or less a linear storyline. I think character dynamics may be important later on as the series progress; I'll have to check on this when the volume s arrive...

Bones, one of my favorite studio is adapting this so...expect at least something good; probably anime original though. Hoping for the best.

Edit: oh yeah, pretty good staff list as well for those familiar with the director.
