I started watching anime when I was really young. Saw DBZ, Naruto etc. I was really obsessed with it until the middle of elementary school. Then I hated it until the winter of 7th grade. I saw Rosario + Vampire and kike Gurren Lagann on Netflix and instantly fell in love with it again. After that I finished like all of the anime on netflix then watced a lot of hulu then last year I wanted to watch sao so I found cr.

I grew up on anime even though I didn't know it was "anime". Starblazers. Battle of the Planets. Sailor Moon. These were some of my favourite cartoons growing up. It wouldn't be until college I made the connection they were from Japan originally which drove me to find other series.

Watched Naruto as a kid and when growing up never really got to fond of American TV shows. So here i am now watching anime everyday and filling the void I get when an anime ends. :p

If anything I thought anime would be a waste of time but i gradually got completely absorbed and have never even gone a day without anime or manga in the three years I've been watching anime.

I really was fascinated by it, but I only thought you could watch anime on TV late at night, so for over a year I never watched it. My friend showed me a website to watch anime dubbed and I started watching Bleach. My life went downhill from there XD

I was actually really young when I got into anime. (Got into it due to Tokyo Mew Mew, Sailor Moon, Pokemon and all that jazz.) So I don't remember what I thought about it, but I must have thought it was normal because I thought they were just cartoons kids watched at the time.

I use to think all the people who watched anime were complete weirdos and freaks for liking that stuff. After watching Baka and test on Netflix one night and I was opened up to the world of anime and my opinions of anime completely changed. Now anime is a real big interest of mine.

When I was a kid everything animated was considered as kiddie-stuff in western terms. So I watched a lot of anime without even realising it was anime. When I stumbled upon JRPG´s in my teens I also came in contact with anime. I had this fascination with japanese culture back then so I watched stuff like Hellsing and Cowboy Bebop and loved it.
For a lot of years I did not watch anime at all but in recent years I have started watching it everyday again, my backlog is huge and I kinda love it!

I started like many with dragon ball

Then watched full metal alchemist and got hooked

Anime is my life, but there are some crazy otaku's compared to me

No opinion since I didn't even know what Anime was when I first started watching it. Before I watched it, I still had no idea what it was. I just called it Cartoons since no-one ever actually called it Anime. It wasn't until I started borrowing DVDs from the library myself that I learned it was called Anime.

I never had an opinion of it because I was always watching it. It was either watching DBZ to Sailor Moon, I was too young to see it as anything but cartoons. Then Adult Swim blew my mind with Inuyasha, One Piece, Detective Conan and so on.. I never realized that it was in its own genre until around middle school when I got into Naruto.

Then BOOM! I dove in watching all kinds from the cute romance, to dark gore animes. So from then on It was set in stone for me, although I did fall off for a couple of years in High School. Now I'm back! B)

My little sister started watching anime before me so I always thought it she was going through a phase and it was only for little kids. It was that way for a while until she bugged me to watch this anime with her; for the longest time I refused until one day I was super bored and I watched an episode with her. I have been hooked ever since, and was pleasantly surprised to see that anime is for everyone. Ironically, I was right however, around her entrance to high school she grew out of her anime phase and I am the one that continues to watch it. Weird huh?
