So this is really a minor meaningless bug, that only appears when you go to a group's forum page. And it only appears on the default page. When you click the link to "display in full page" then that subsequent display is correct.

I only happened to notice this because of the recent introduction of the crown as a choice for the premium star, but the bug itself is probably a longstanding one that no one else ever bothered to report.

On the default forum page for a group, the member star of the user last responding to a post in any thread inherits the characteristics of the member star for the original poster. Obviously, this is really no big deal but still, it is a bug, so I'm just reporting it...

Yeah, this happens on a few other pages that you can't look at as well. It is a very long-standing bug and it is near the top of my list of benign bugs that I will quickly fix if I ever get a job at CR. Outside of that unlikely scenario, I don't see it being fixed in the near future.

This bug has been around for exactly a year now and we've been aware of it. However, I don't think anyone will bother to fix it since we're phasing out the stars. Everyone who's a Premium Member will have a golden crown.

If anyone has noticed, the stars on videos and the Premium Member page have been replaced with a golden crown. The Premium Member page has crowns, the Premium Member videos have little crowns on them, and now users who are Premium Member will have crowns as well. The whole star thing is slowly being phased out, which is the reason I'm holding onto my green star as much as possible :p

The bug may no longer be visible when everyone is a crown, but the underlying cause will still be there, and it will make me cry at night, much to ni's delight.

Once we force commit to everyone being crowns, maybe that'll push a fix on the bug. Of course...you'll never know for sure. Suffer my cute little otter pet.

I've got a problem, but I can't seem to start a new thread...

When i start an episode of any anime, I can watch a good 2 or 3 minutes of it until it stops, and starts the next episode. It's been doing this since yesterday and I have no longer been able to watch cruchyroll on my computer. HELP please!

Thanks

This is a known issue that we're working on fixing. Turn off your autoplay button (That swirly arrow). It should help stop the video skipping to the next episode. If it doesn't, contact us:

You're going to need some mighty strong propaganda to get this change down our throats.

Or just really good summer and fall anime line-ups, that works too.

I'm only addressing this part of your question:

As a user with less than 500 CR Points, you can (theoretically) only start completely new threads in the help section... But even then you need to go into one of the sub-forums first:

When you click this:

you go here:

And you can't start a new thread there, but you can see a summary page of all the latest posts for all the help categories mixed together, sorted with the most recent activity at the top. You can only respond to the existing threads there. Trying to start a new thread will just give you an error message from the combined summary page displaying the most recent activity from all the various areas.

But when you click this instead:

you expand the categories:

and then further clicking one of the links in the circle, you can go here:
And that's where you can start a new help thread.

I expect that some day we'll wake up and selecting a color star will no longer be an option, and every premium member will just have a crown.

While they could phase it in so that it affected only new members or those trying to change their star (much like the avatar size limits), I expect it will just be change across the board.

Just another thing that happens to you as you age. My advice: Don't do it.
