Bonus Questions:

1. Is suicide seen as cowardly or selfish?

2. Why are people willing to kill themselves to save a random stranger?

Suicide is the best thing ever. Why? Because you wouldn't get arrested for murdering.

Ah. Nobody can arrest you for ending your own life. Is that where you're getting at?

Maybe if the person asked me nicely, I would think about it.

I would not save a stranger all willy nilly. Can't a guy be wooed anymore? At least a "please" and "thank you" would be nice if I'm giving up my life here.

Suicide shouldn't be thought of in a daily basis.

I think those suffering like I am would call this self-sacrifice. For having to wait to have my life finished in the hand of God.

Just sacrificing my sanity until God takes me from this stupid world.

I think that the general difference between self-sacrifice and suicide is that, although they're technically the same in a sense, the motives behind "self-sacrifice" and "suicide" tend to greatly differ. "Self-sacrifice" is often someone sacrificing himself/herself for the well-being of someone else, while "suicide" is more about the person being much more concerned with their own well-being. There are cases where "suicide" and "self-sacrifice" are mistaken for the other, and they can overlap.

"Suicides" like I described are inherently selfish and can be seen as cowardly, depending upon the person and the situation. On the other hand, "self-sacrifice," since it is about sacrifice for the sake of others, naturally leans towards selfless and therefore isn't cowardly.

The reasons that people may have for laying down their lives varies case-by-case; however, I will mention that what all would undoubtedly drive me to do so are an over-whelming urge to protect/rescue, impulse, and rage towards whoever/whatever caused the situation or put someone in harms way.

Haha well what about you? What do you think is the difference between self sacrifice and suicide? I don't think I answered the question before... I don't really know the difference. You both end your life anyway.

I see it both as the same thing, personally. Either way you're ending your life in my eyes.

Exactly how is suicide selfish and cowardly in your opinion?
