Feel free to discuss any Jojo Bizarre Adventure series here.
So far, I've read up to Steel Ball Run and there is another eight parts with one of them continuing. The eight series from the Jojo franchise includes:

I sure as hell hope Diamond is Unbreakable gets adapted someday though. As for the manga series, I've been enjoying them quite a bit with its classic feeling of its adventure fun, Jojo style.

I'm on Diamond is Unbreakable and I really want to skip it. The story is fine so far but I'm on that part with the weird girl. The thing that is killing it for me are the translations which are terrible.

If you are reading the crappy translation, I am so sorry.

I just finished Phantom Blood today, and read Rohan at the Louvre and Thus Spoken Kishibe Rohan a while ago. I'm in the middle of Battle Tendency. I've taken on the very foolish task of reading through ALL of Jojo, its many spin-offs and the rest of Hirhiko Araki's titles. I definitely prefer his more recent works over his older ones. The art is much more distinct. I have to catch-up on the anime... I'm so far behind.

Time to read the second half of Part 3

I forgot there was supposed to be a dog on their team eventually lol. Iggy's pretty cool. I had a Boston terrier when I was younger. They kind of remind me of each other lol. I was a bad trainer though >_> That's why I stick to cats now.

I'll see if I can keep this thread alive a little bit. Updates when cool things happen.

There's a compressed feeling the manga has that adds to the Stand fights that the anime can't quite get. Where there's less time for exposition as the fight develops, it makes the action more nonsensical but also more fun at the same time.

With the anime break and the manga's hiatus this is gonna be a tough month (Hopefully month too many mysteries in JoJolion >_< lol)
Also having doubts Diamond is Unbreakable will be within these 2 cours since they just got to Egypt.

Chuggin' along through Part 3

Let's see...

Oingo and Boingo are freaking weird lol.
Anubis was a cool stand.
Joseph got a highlight arc of sorts, and it was hilarious. A good display of Joseph ingenuity mixed with Stand weirdness.
Polnareff got one too. Wasn't that great.
We finally get our first glance at what Dio's Stand actually does. And Hol Horse makes his return!

I still dislike the grotesqueness of Part 3. Wish it would go away, honestly.

That's where I'm at. They're almost in Cairo.

Oh and also:

Edit:

They're so freakin close to DIO dangit

I've finally had my first case of JoJo's-induced brain overload. We're at who I'm guessing is DIO's right hand man of sorts, Vanilla Ice, who is so dang fabulous that he turned the manga pages full-color.

2 things:
Buff men shouldn't wear leotards. I don't know which fan Araki was trying to serve with this guy but it's not working lol
Vanilla Ice's Stand kind of makes sense on paper, doesn't make sense at all in practice. This is a good thing, but not after a test >_>

Vanilla Ice might be the first Stand that actually won't make sense in the show. The show ends up explaining things pretty well from the manga, but I don't see how they can manage this one lol.

The highlight of what I've read so far is either Joseph's highlight arc or Jotaro versus D'arby, who steals your soul through gambling.

Also, JoJo's is seriously lacking in the Rush references department. I don't think there's any in the whole series.

So anyone else is caught up with the manga, because I'm interested to know which part is your favorite, characters and favorite stands.
For me at least I'm a big fan of Josuke and Gyro Zeppeli , best parts for me would be Diamond is Unbreakable (4) and Steel Ball Run (7), favorite villains are Dio, Kosaku and Funny Valentine and lastly as my favorite stand is Heaven's Door of Rohan Kishibe because is so convenient.

Okay so I finished Part 3 a while ago but couldn't be bothered to update...

Vanilla Ice's fight was awesome. Surprisingly emotional too. Polnareff gets all the character development in Part 3...

IT'S DIO! WHO KNEW HE HAD A FABULOUS FACE BEHIND THAT SHADOW?

The final fight with Dio is strange, because it's not one of those things where Dio is giving monologues and finalizing his character, or revealing anything new or crazy. (It really does make me wonder why he's at the top of the JoJo's villains popularity contest. Almost all of his characterization in Part 3 comes from 3rd-person descriptions.)

It's basically like, okay Dio's here, time to fight! So that's a bit refreshing, but strange as I said at the same time. From when Dio shows up until the end, there's a good 5 or 6 episodes worth of happening going on.

If I hadn't already known what Dio's power was, I would have been freaking out I'm sure lol

And oh man that roadroller lol, I knew it was coming and it still surprised me somehow. The most iconic part of the fight just comes out of nowhere.

Overall I give it a 9/10 I suppose. Improvement over the first half of Part 3, but still just not as good as Part 2.

Part 4

So now I'm a good bit into Part 4. This part is an improvement over Part 3 so far. The subject matter is just a little more mature, and it's toned down the grotesqueness this time around, plus it's just got this air of humor about it that I love.

MC Hammer pants. MC Hammer pants everywhere.

The characters together do seem to share more of a sense of "friendship,' rather than just this "allies fighting for the same cause" attitude.

The "monster of the week" format is still here, but it's not so glaring this time around, because it's a mystery plot this time (which naturally slowly unravels) rather than a "we need to get to one place and kill one guy but Stand users are in the way" plot (which is just stretching out a plot meaninglessly).

Also, the Stands are really goofy now. Toy soldiers Stand? No, that's an actual mini-army with working tanks and helicopters lol. This part in general is more bizarre than the rest so far, and that's a very good thing. So many things make no sense out of context.

Another layer that Part 4 adds is that not all Stand users (aside from the main crew) are evil this time around. Some just want to do their own thing.
