I need to know what the majority of people are saying about this anime, and yeah I know the hype and what now, but I just don't see the appeal for this. I was on Youtube and I was watching Teens React To Attack on Titan and it made me completely enraged. I absolutely, ABSOLUTELY know for a fact that people who praise attack on titan or call it something we were "blessed" with haven't even seen an anime like Code Geass or Steins;Gate. And I don't want to hear the whole "Oh Steins;Gate, Code Geass, and AOT aren't alike enough to compare" because that's BS, anime are to be compared by how well the characters are developed, how thorough the plot is, how many characters are developed, etc. I'm not saying that AOT is a bad anime, but compared to the hype it gets it's crap. I give it 6/10. I want to know what you guys think about AOT, if you like it, what you like better, or what you think AOT is better than.

Well, I thought that AoT was a really good anime because it made me scared for humanity.
For the first time, circumstances are just so dire that it may not be saved.

That was why I like AoT. It made me feel slightly different.

But was it as good as the hype?
Not really.
I thought it's hype was bigger than what the series presented.

Nonetheless, I thought it was a good series.

I disagree, AOT, in my opinion, was a nice change of pace from your "average" anime. It's definitely no anime of the year but it's one of those anime that appeal to the masses. Yea, bottom line it was over hyped and I will agree that there are some more enjoyable shows out there but AOT is a solid anime

As the story progress, the information about the Titan gets disappointing.
Being a Titan is like a moving phallic symbol of power.
Politics and greediness of people can be smelt miles away.

Outstanding Animation
Great Sound
Great Art
Decent Plot
Poor Characters.

I didn't enjoy the characters in the series, and characters are one of the most crucial keys to me when it comes to enjoying a series. So can't say I enjoyed it as much as the majority on the community.

"Different"? It's barely any different from your typical shounen anime. MC watches the gruesome death of a loved one, wants to take revenge for said loved one, finds out he has a power that differs from everyone else, main villain is close(?) friend, when all hope is lost he thinks of his loved one and gets some super will power to defeat his enemy.

I really enjoyed the anime and think it's up there as one of the greats. I started reading the manga about half a year before the anime aired and really loved the animation style and the fight scenes were so cool to watch compared to seeing it in manga form. I would have this anime in the conversation being one of the top animes out there because of massive fanbase and influence it has gained. I'm not sure how I would compare it to other animes out there side by side because I feel like it would just come down to which you enjoyed more.

The whole reason I started watching other anime was because of AOT. So for me, its pretty darn good.Code Geass is a really good anime too (besides from the fan service, blah). Haven't seen Steins;Gate yet, but I do plan to.

Its all up to your opinion tbf. It may be overrated, but without it being overrated I would probably never of heard of it. Plus loads of other people watch anime now because of it, so isn't that a good thing?

I really enjoyed the anime.

The storyline was pretty good and the animation for the show was nice.
The Voice Actors did a pretty good job when they were acting for the show but I haven't seen the english dubbed version yet so I can't tell you anything about that.

Overall I just really enjoyed the anime and to me it was Over-hyped for what you actually got in my opinion but people could say other wise

When I watched it, I didn't feel bored or ever considered dropping it, so it's apparent I obviously enjoyed it.

I consider it "trash anime". Not trash meaning bad, but trash as in once you are done with it, you throw it out (like a cheap paperback) and move on. It didn't have any lingering effects, which I feel is kind of important. When you are done with a good movie, book, or anime, if it lingers in your head, wishing it didn't have to end. That's a good sign. Didn't get that for AoT. Might be interesting to know the backstory, but again, no compulsion to actually dig into it; I didn't feel compelled to seek out the source material or anything other than what was in the 25 (?) episode anime and I didn't watch the OVAs.

It's not the be-all-end-all of anime, and I kinda put it into the same category as mecha; the mechas are built out of flesh, but mecha nonetheless. Still fun to watch at least once.
