The city of Lyndon, a last reminder of an older world, before the conveniences of the industrial revolution. The king, too cheap, has let his own city fall into a terrible state.
The city is surrounded by a proud wall square in shape, breached only a handful of times in the previous centuries, so we already know it is strong and ready to repel invaders. The patches and repairs were done hastily, with cost always at the front of their minds.
Watch towers at each corner are in disrepair, one leaning haphazardly, and that was before the siege began.
The sprawling city streets, now near empty save for flaming ruins, lie between the outer wall and the inner which protects the keep. Any houses left standing are billets for the remainders of the military, the common folk having fled already, being the smart ones.
The keep itself is a squat, damp castle, a leak in its roof growing slowly worse over the years. Three stories tall, it's solid oak doors are the last line of defense if the inner wall is breached.
Outside the city, a foul moat, the water stagnant and stinking provides a barrier before the wall. Rotting stakes, gone long unreplaced, line the moat.

Current Forces including injured
300 Archers, trained
200 Full Knights of Angland
30 Knight Supplicants
28 Horses
150 Soldiers, trained
400 Infantry Reserves, armed peasants
1 Sniveling Monarch, breeches soiled
1 Doddering Old Wizard, senile

The men are exhausted, battered after a humiliating defeat within the Dark Empire. Those who remain are the city guards, the knights in training, and those fleetest of foot who managed to flee the battlefield. All is not lost! A messenger was dispatched, with the remains of the Royal Treasury, sent to hire a band of mercenaries to provide aid!

The Imperial Forces
7th Legion, currently tasked to try out heavier armor, and heavy halberds.
24th Legion, regular Legionnaires
2 Legions of Auxiliary:
750 Spear Men
750 Archers
500 Engineers, earth workers and siege engineers

With two companies of Battles Mages from the 18th Legion on route.

Surrounding Lyndon, on all four sides, heavy barricades have been raised. Earth working mages dug ditches, raising barriers behind them, with heavy logs built on top to provide barrier and blockade both. Behind these, three aside, are the trebuchet. Having bombarded the city for the first few nights, raining firey death on the defenders. They lie silent now, as more siege machines are constructed, ready for a final assault on the city.

Lancelot stood atop the outer battlements, glaring down at the forces arranged against him. So much discipline within their ranks, everything done quickly and efficiently. It was hardly any wonder his own forces had been blown away like chaff in the wind. It would not be long now before they assaulted the gate, and his own people would be in no shape to repel them. The Imperials would need to tear this city from him though, they would not go down without a fight.
