Seems a lot of people are confused on how chromecast works, if you have an iphone there's a chrome cast app..if you're on the internet there should be a chrome cast button on the crunchyroll video player..as long as your tv has a HDMI port, you can use chromecast by switching the input to where you put the chromecast...Make sure to download the chrome cast app from either the google play store or the apple appstore..pair your device(s) and allow your chrome cast app to find your chrome cast, that should really be it.

I want to test this out on Apple Phone soon.

Edit:
Just tried it with an Apple Phone, and it works just as good.
- I updated the crunchyroll App to 2.3, most recent.
- The "Chromecast" icon is now on the crunchyroll App.
- Touch that and connect to your Chromecast device.
- Play your video.
- Enjoy

It turned out my Chromecast wasn't being recognized. Due to a "Updating 0%" problem even after being power cycled, I had to reset it and go through the setup again.

After that, it works fine with the app on my Nook HD+, and for direct casting from Chrome on my PC. No luck on my iPod Touch (4th gen with iOS 6) initially, but that was resolved after restarting it.

So let's put "Restart Device" as part of the instructions. "LAWL"

Jesus Christ. Where the hell is a Xbox One app?! I'd threaten to cancel my account if I thought anyone would give half a crap. So that's it, I'm done. I'll be monitoring the site and when they finally add it, I'll reopen the account I've had for 5 years.

Chromecast only supports android and therefore the answer to your question is no.

I believe you forgot iOS and users of the Chrome web browser on computers.

Google may not officially support Windows Phone for Chromecast, but apparently it isn't impossible:

That said, I wouldn't expect support from CR until Google adds official support.

so I have a chromecast but how do you get it to work on the tv normally I would just stream the google chrome tab or on youtube there is an option on the player, but how does it work with crunchy roll?

For those using the Chrome web browser with the Chromecast extension installed, the web player on CR should now look like this:

Note the cast button in between the time indicator and the autoplay button.

Thanks a bunch! I've been using Chromecast to cast anime from the Chrome browser and it's been working well, but I'm glad that Crunchyroll has done this for us! It is pretty awesome to watch on an large HD tv vs my kinda tiny Surface screen.
Thanks a bunch!

You've enjoyed Crunchyroll content for 4.5 years WITHOUT an Xbox One...but because they can't get an app to your latest device fast enough, fuck them, right.

why does one need chromecast to play on tv or phone? I'm a bit perplexed behind the reasoning needed for it. Currently, I can stream videos from my phone without issues. Also, on the same note I can simply plug in my computer with HDMI to watch it on my television or perhaps just use my xbox 360.....? explain why we are still talking about this?

If you are currently streaming videos from your phone (I assume via Miracast if your phone is Android or AirPlay if it is an iPhone), you are doing just that; streaming the content from your phone. With Chromecast, the video is streaming from the internet to the Chromecast, and the phone is only acting as a remote.

Yes, you can plug your computer in via HDMI, but not everyone wants to do that. Do you really think most people want to string an HDMI cable to their notebook across the floor to their TV when they could just sit down in their chair with it and press the cast button in Chrome?

As for the Xbox 360: I suppose you never considered that not everyone has one. Even if they do, having more than one method of viewing CR doesn't hurt, in the event their is a problem with one.

I've seen similar cases of "I-don't-get-it-itis" for Roku or other streaming media boxes, wireless streaming from phones or tablets ("I can just hook up a MHL cable), and various other technologies. Just because you personally don't see the need for something, doesn't mean others don't.
