I was racially profiled in a Best Buy last week. Other than that I've worked in retail for 3 years..so many stories I can't even remember them all.

It's a long rant I put on Facebook later that day so let me know if you want a link to my page for details. But long story short I was on my way to work but had some time to kill so I walk into B.B. to look for a phone. My parents wanted me to look and choose one so they could purchase it for me. I was there for about 45 minutes to an hour and during the whole time I was getting glares from guests and the staff working there. People were mumbling under their breaths and whispering to their spouses while looking at me. It got bad enough to the point that right before I was about to leave, a team member there (who was obviously working with the first couple for what looked like a while) stopped his consultation with them to "help" me. I told him what I was interested in and he tried to get me to buy a cheaper phone. Trying my best not to make a scene or waves I left.

One for the ages.

Back when I used to work at an upscale grocery store as a checker, there was this one regular we had. She was old, batshit crazy and mean. Whenever she came into the store the checkers would race to say "not it!" as if that mattered. We would give eachother status reports as she got closer to the registers "code orange!". Some of us would even pretend to be busy tying our shoes or something. You never wanted to be that poor bastard. Sometimes she'd bark. Literally, like a dog. This one time she demanded a personal shopper and even though that's a service we've never provided, guess who got stuck on that hell duty? "No!" she'd hiss "Get me the cheaper one!" "How is this can of tuna different from the other one?" That was excruciating. Then this one time when she came through my line, she held everything up for at least a good ten minutes because she didn't have enough on her EBT card to cover the cost of her food, and of course she had no other means of payment. If I tried to suggest that maybe I take the chocolate milk off she'd insisted loudly that she "needed it." When I tried to converse with her aid to make sense of her unintelligible ranting Typhoid Mary would get pissed off and say that she was paying and that I needed to address her. Customer service tried calling the EBT people. Holy shit that was bad. Eventually I had to pawn her off on them. She was too much for me to handle.

Well another story from the fun life of customer service in food service

So this couple comes through the drive through
First off they're in an old truck that has an engine that runs to loud, to the point where when you're at a drive through
Then the person that is doing all the talking is the girlfriend in the passengers seat
She starts muttering her order so I, trying to be polite (not sure if I succeeded) tell her that I can't hear her
She then yells her order at me as loud as she can, my manager could hear her over MY headset and the customer doesn't eve clarify her order properly so I ask her what combo she wants (She said the combo number I needed to know if she wanted beef or chicken)
Her boyfriend then curses at me and asks if can hear them, I calmly tell them that I need to know if they want beef or chicken, she tells me chicken and then says "Why would I want beef?"
Then they take a long pause and when I ask if that will complete my order they freak out again and (Somehow) complete their order

Honestly one of the worst experiences I've had working drive through in awhile

I worked a few months retail for Toys R Us (electronics, video games, etc) when I was younger and actually had a pretty good experience. Was pretty much my dream job so I can't say I have any horror stories lol.

I used to work at McD's for about 2 years when I was younger, and honestly the only way to prevent crap like that from happening is to learn how to talk. Basically, sweet talking your customers prevents even the biggest a-hole from flipping out on you.

Speaking of fast food, the worst incident I've ever had was I think the 3rd week or so of me working there. Apparently some guys fries spilled inside his bag and he started throwing a fit with me saying I did it on purpose. He then started threatening to hit me me to which I kept saying "then do it" over and over. Eventually they told me to head into the crew room while the managers diffused the situation. Never saw that guy again, and never had another incident like that again.

I thank you guys. Normally things like that don't bother me, I think its messed up of course but it normally doesn't bother me that much. But that just felt like the whole store was telling me to fuck off. I was waiting for someone to flat out tell me a racist remark, weirdly enough I would have preferred that as opposed to what happened. Then I would have the chance and duty to myself to respond, not disrespectfully but I would have the chance to speak my mind you know.

Work in casinos and changed 8 monitors/touchscreens in the past week from customers punching them.
First encounter with a crazy a customer was during my first install. He saw my co-workers and started off calmly asking how the game worked. So I stated explaining how the game worked to him and he keeps telling me I'm worng and that I'm lying to him . So after him telling me that I just start to ignore him and go back to work. He makes the choice that hes going to stand there and scream at the top of his lungs that "there are F******* magnets in it and they're stealing all of our money and you can go f*** youselves!" So we're just standing there watching him making a spectacle of himself and he decides that hes going to do this for 5 minutes until security removes him.

Oh or the guy that we had to have arrest for masterbating at one of the games. What suprised me wasn't the fact of what he was doing but that there were 80 other people around him that ust kept playing seeming indifferent about what was happening around them.

One of my favorites was when i worked at Mcd's in highschool.

Working late one night during summer, only person in drive-thru (took orders, ran and presented them...it was a fairly slow night and nearly closing time). Well, this lady came through and ordered 3 of these new sundaes we had. Specialty sundaes with various toppings. Well...we ran out of the containers for them and were using the platters for the big breakfast, and it worked.....

But she didn't like that, she paid i handed her the food and waited as she looked through her bags. Then looked up at me and said "what is this?! what is this?!" opened one up and said "I don't want this, it doesn't look like the picture at all!" to which my reply was the face of -_-

but I told her we didn't have the proper container, she took em and left.

P.S. After a series of unfortunate events, I'm back at working at Mcd's (another one, but owned by same franchise ). Please....please...please for the love of fluffy yellow bunnies...DO NOT return your food cause it "doesn't look like the picture", I'll respond with -_- cause we all know the pictures are fake.
