Well, you found an area that Time Warner Cable hasn't got their hands on yet, you should be happy. At least they won't start charging you ludicrous prices when it gets taken over by Comcast conglomerate.

Besides, it's not like the rest of us here is living like kings.

Actually TWC would have better prices than what we are currently paying for. Being that there is only one ISP here that must provide internet to a very remote town, their prices are literally through the roof. I know how bad TWC is, but I would personally welcome them over what we have now.

Like I said earlier though, they'll cease to exist soon. Comcast bought them out and is pending review in a Senate hearing (note all the senators looking at this have already been heavily lobbied by Comcast) which will make your isp possibly the most affordable in the state. Comcast is notorious for charging insane prices at random for far more than their advertised price. It may seem better now, but doom is on the horizon. I might be looking to run a very very long line from your home to mine in the coming months so I don't have to pay $150 for the 'new' slower internet.

I pay TWC $80a month for this, in all honesty it doesn't matter if Comcast buys them out or not. You'll still be paying high ass internet bills

It's better than paying more for even less than what we have currently. It's quite the wide range of choice; do you want the turd, or the turd? The sad part is that's supposedly better than over 54% of the country.

....I hear flashbacks of AOL. Are you sure your ISP is on broadband, or just throttle in overdrive?

I think you're on dial-up connection, or hit those crazy caps they have up in Canada. I hope you're not paying more than $40 for that connection, that would just be plain robbery. I'd suggest to never try fiber until you can get a new isp, or you'll be spoiled (what doesn't exist in the majority of the US that was supposed to be in by the mid-late 2000's).

Geographical monopolies are a wonderful thing, which almost tempts me to support a single internet company for the country, but then I think of SOPA & PIPA, and immediately disregard it.

I have Comcast. It goes for about 80-90 mbps. The thing is that I only signed up for 60 and they upgraded me without telling me, but they did not raise the price at all.

Pay about $60 for unlimited download. But considering where I live, this is pretty good! Unless if you go to the city. I don't like seeing the speeds of the city. I feel bad ;-;

Also, my stupid IP always says that I live Melbourne. I live in Perth dammit!
