Fuuko from Clannad

She is fine for the beginning of series. I mean, what is she like 15-17? It's believable.

However assuming that the end of After Story is about 7-8 years after the beginning of the anime. That would put her at least at 22, yet she still looks like that at the very end.

dude, try more like 25-26, as stated by kouko, she's the same age as tomoya, and he's either 25 or 26 by the end of after story...that's even weirder

Irisviel was still capable of making her own decisions and also the things you mentioned Ilya doing, for what I remember. Never was given the chance to fully make any, though.

True she did most of those things but it was mostly based off her dedication to Kiritsugu, I never felt like she understood the full 'weight' of what going on though. Like when she comforted Kiritsugu I felt she didn't understand what was torturing him despite it being 'their' goal, she just wanted to comfort Kiritsugu while he was in pain. Like I said my problem with Irisviel is that she is only a decade old and her personality and actions reflect that age making it impossible for me to see her as anything but a child.

Stiyl from Index being 14 is...illogical. I can understand 17...im pretty lenient, but 14!? Shinji is 14. Besides...he's smoking a cigarette and sale of tobacco to minors is an offense. Guess Academy City laws are different...
Well, Stiyl is from the UK. I don't have first hand knowledge, but a quick wikipedia search shows that the legal age to buy cigarettes in the UK is 18, although at the time of the series original publication of Index the legal age to buy cigarettes in the UK was only 16. HOWEVER, In England there is no minimum legal age at all for tobacco use in private, possession of tobacco by minors isn't a crime by itself, and the minimum age of 16 for public use of tobacco is rarely enforced due to rampant use among teenagers. So his being a smoker actually isn't odd at all even at 14. All he has to do is have someone else buy for him, or find a seller that won't card him.

He does look a bit older than he should for age 14 though, which might explain why he doesn't have problems smoking in England. Since he is mostly off the grid in Acadamy City when he visits, because he is there illegally in the first place, his smoking isn't an issue there.

No, if the official guidebook says so, then it is. Her age being 18, I mean.

Well do we really know for sure? I want to take your word, but unless I see it for myself/actually hear it from a former Gainax member, it's kind of hard to believe.

I hate to be like this, but I hope you can understand that it's just a little hard to believe one person's word on a forum with no proof.... I don't mean to be a dick, but I hope you can understand where I'm coming from.

That's kinda why I call her a child, she doesn't doubt or try to think about the full weight of what Kiritsugu says even though she took on his ideals and like I said earlier she doesn't actually believe in them. She took Kiritsugu in because she wasn't sure how else she should live... and that is something that a child does in my opinion. Her personality and mindset are something that I can only describe as someone with 'childish innocence and motivations.' That's not necessarily bad per say but combined that mindset with her actual age... I'm sorry but it still creeps me out a bit.

Well we agree that she had a head start from Justeaze.

She definitely was naive like a child, but I wouldn't put in her in the same category as a child. She's developed as an adult physically and has a lot of knowledge, they only thing she lacked was personality but she got one once she stayed around Kiritsugu.

It's just like how I wouldn't call the Mikasa clones from the Raildex series a bunch of little kids. They're basically robots that lacked emotion and Iri was the same basically (except maybe not as extreme). So she was able to grasp things much faster than a kid and slowly developed into an adult. She might have been naive, but that doesn't classify her as a child.

Biscuit Krueger from Hunter x Hunter.

When she first showed up, I thought she was the same age as Gon and Killua (12 years old). But then when I heard her speak, I knew she was older than she looked... Turns out she's 57 years old.

You're not being a dick. You just want more clarification. I understand that. I do too. But, really, in the end it's whatever you want to believe. I believe she's 18, since I remember Kamina being 19 or so. It just sits right with me that way.

If you find someone with the official guidebook and happen to find info about her saying she's whatever and you want to go by that, then go for it. There's also the chance the person on the forum (I mean the one I found the info on, which wasn't much) has seen it herself, but couldn't or didn't feel the need to post proof. Which, at that point, it's what you believe it to be.

And, hm, for the record, the official site said she's around the same age as Simon, so that could be anywhere from 1-4 years older. Not necessarily 15.

For these kinds of situations, a certain phrase comes in handy. If there is grass on the field, play ball.

(gonna go with myanimelist that says she is 16 first half, 23 second half)

You can remember the long ass title of that show. But not the teacher's name from Index.

Just call it Noucome already!

I really wished someone with the guidebook would have posted something about it, but whatever. It's like you said, believe what you want to believe! Though I agree with bathroom64:

I'm just going to go by what MAL said. It makes the most sense because at 16 she could be that developed and then at 23, she wouldn't be that much different because she had an early growth spurt and at 23 you're still pretty damn fit.

So that makes the most sense for me.
