I actually think the reason the Titans invaded after 100 years is Eren's father's fault. Eren's father obviously knows a great deal about the Titans. You can insinuate that Eren is special because Annie went to really great lengths to try to kidnap him. The manga gives us proof that he is special.

So here is my theory.

1. Eren's father knows everything about all of the conspiracies, including exactly what/who the Titans are.
--1a. There is a chance that Eren's father was a spy or an ambassador for the Titans but he defected. As to why I think this, well. Eren is special, and the titans know that Eren is special and in exactly what way he is special. We have evidence that Eren's father made him special.
--1b. This also leads me to believe that the Titans originally attacked the town to try to eliminate Eren's father / the serum that Eren's father gave Eren.

Those are pretty much the only conclusions I can make without simply just guessing. I kind of feel that the Titans may be infiltrating the government, but there really has been no solid proof of that other than the Titan in the wall at the end of the anime and that those church guys know something about it.

I have a theory about Mikasa! I think Mikasa was supposed to be a titan or something like that. Eren's dad was experimenting on her too giving her the same injections as Eren or something similar thus giving her superhuman strength. or maybe not lol

I agree with you about the Titan attack being to eliminate Grisha/the serum.

I hadn't thought about 1a before though. I think that's a very strong possibility.

Ackerman. Ackerman. Ackerman.
This surname sure is a mystery, isn't it? We know for sure that Mikasa's mom was Japanese and probably had a different last name (probably, most likely). Her dad... could he had been French, maybe? We know that Levi is French and apparently his last name is Ackerman. Does that mean that Mikasa and Levi could be related in some way...?

I don't think Kenny is Levi's father though. I believe Kenny was just a guy who helped Levi out and maybe he thought he could get something out of it. This whole Ackerman thing is just so exciting.

Now...
Titans in the wall! Here is something I wrote in another forum that I'll just post here:

Ahh yeees! This is basically what I'm theorizing now. I don't exactly think that The Titans were experiments meant for human destruction though. I believe that maybe they thought they could somehow make a 'superhuman' and then distribute that to others through medication. Hey, its happened before in fiction, just look at Hulk (bad example?). But yes, I definitely think that maybe intelligent Titans, or in this case one intelligent Titan (the Ape Titan), escaped and somehow took some secrets with them. As for Grisha, I'll repeat a tidbit of what I said earlier. "Does that mean that this information was written down and passed on to only some specific society, aka the social elite? Could Grisha be part of this 'social elite'?" I honestly would not be surprised if this is somehow true.

I also had a tiny speculation about the plague that Grisha helped out with:

So much yes to this ^
But is Eren really that special? Could it be that Grisha just wanted to give Eren this serum just because he's his son. For the most part, before the whole serum thing, Eren seemed like a pretty normal kid. Sure he was extremely curious about the outside world, but in that situation, who wouldn't be? His hatred for the Titans? Also pretty normal, seeing as they don't have the freedom to do anything. Is the serum the only thing that has made Eren special? Makes you wonder why Grisha chose him, doesn't it? Couldn't he have chosen Mikasa? She seems a bit more stable than Eren and stronger too. Or could it be that Eren already showed signs of leadership that may have intensified the serum itself?

Shingeki No Kyojin is just one big bundle of questions.

I actually looked up the origin of the last name 'Ackerman' and it seems to be both German and Swedish. So yes, my theory of Papa Ackerman being French can be thrown out the window. Basically he's either German or Swedish, though I'm leaning over to Swedish abit more than German.

I don't believe Levi is German though. I assumed he might be French because of the way some people, such as yourself, write his name (Rivaille). Though I also looked it up and it's properly written as Levi (according to Kodansha's twitter (off. snk tweeter basically). But anyways, enough of their nationalities.

Grisha being one of the bad guys could definitely be true. The whole Eren's mother being eaten by a Titan being done on purpose is kind of 'eh' though. Maybe that was just a coincedence that furthered the plan of his kidnapping. Grisha is a stinker though. It's hard to tell whether he's good or bad seeing as he's been gone this whole entire time.
