Looks like we got ourselves a big Urobuchi fan here!

I've never understood the appeal, what's so great about him?

Google it. But make sure you turn on the maturity filter so it is sfw.

He's worked on a lot of awesome titles and has made a name for himself. He's probably one of the most recognized anime script writers around and for good reason.

Fate/Zero is my favorite title that he's worked on.

Besides Urobuchi being a giant sadistic psychopath for dragging five little girls through the ringer, I thought it was great.

I did have to wash the emo out of my brain by watching a few episodes Mondaiji and Kawaisou and I agree with what somebody else said previously about never going back to watch it a second time, but that doesn't stop it from being a very well done anime.

The characters, and how the magic system works seems to be the biggest appeals. Homura becomes a very sympathetic character throughout the show and seeing her commitment to change the 100% unavoidable fate similar to how Rika does is amazing to watch. The characters all come from their own unique backgrounds and have different reasons for carrying out what they see as justice.

As for the magic system, learning how it actually works is not too far away from how Awakened Beings and Claymore operate in Claymore. It is a brutal cycle of the food chain again similar to how Kyouko described it.

The staff is another reason, seeing as Gen Urobuchi has done Saya No Uta, Fate/Zero, and Psycho-Pass. Each work of his has been epic and well worth the time to get into.

Yuki Kajiura for the music. After watching this along with Noir, .Hack, and Pandora Hearts. Its an understatement to say that Yuki is one of the best composers out there.

My boyfriend made me watch it. Personally, I really didn't like it. The story line was decent, but if they had made the girls a little less cute, it probably would've been better. Dunno if that makes sense or not. The artwork was ok, I actually really liked the concept of the witches. So cute and whatnot, then all of a sudden...BAM! They eat you lol. Can't remember the main girls name, but she really really got on my nerves. I can't stand the whiny type. Its super obnoxious. Never seen the movies, and don't plan on it.

I think it is a wonderful piece of anime to add to my collection. It was beautiful to look at, the witch style was a fresh presentation. I think the girls themselves took me a minute to get used to but when I got passed that I fell in love. I think the show tells a heartbreaking love story. I believe the movie was logically the next step that had to happen and was extremely sad, but was great to see more things fleshed out, like the transformations! LOVE the movie's transformations.

I had never seen a single magical girl anime before this one. I was always looking for a place to start with the genre, this was a great place. I'm now watching Sailor Moon for the first time, and loving it.

I need to get around to this, I've had it on my computer now for months. The timing just hasn't felt right.

Personally, it was watchable, but I didn't find it remotely as good as people make it out to be. I'd recommend anyone who hasn't seen it gives it a shot, though, given it seems to appeal to more people than it doesn't.
