Have you ever felt there was an anime series that you thought it didn't need a season 2 or 3?

Let me know if a thread like this one exist or not.
Thanks a bunches.

Explain your opinion in detail.

List the name of the anime series as well.

Pretty much this anime series doesn't need another season since everything has been explained and done. Adding a new season wouldn't mean anything/would be pointless. People felt that the series deserves a season two or three but you didn't think it did.

My Turn:

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion does NOT need a season three at all. Everything that needed to happen in both season one and two did happen. Lelouch is dead and the world moves on like it does not care anymore. We already have Code Geass: Boukoku no Akito which is a four episode OVA. Episode one and two are already out and the third will come out this year while the fourth comes out later next year. There is also a picture drama called Code Geass: Soubou no Oz which has five episodes and yet no word on it's release. CGLOTR does not need another season three. But Code Geass does need another twenty-five episode series similar to Lelouch of the Rebellion yet not so much.

Kill la Kill doesn't need a season two in my eyes. Everything has already happen in a way that a second season would be so pointless. An OVA would sound nice just not a second season.

Any anime series that didn't end with a cliffhanger don't really need a second season or third season either.

I don't know if you'd consider it a second season or not but, I do. In Sword Art Online when they go to Alfheim I didn't think that was really needed. I was actually satisfied with the first twelve episodes. Everyone got out safely (Presumably) happy ending end of story.

Free!

Rin and Haru have already made up and teamed up, making them win the race. Why add another season?

yeah i thought the same when they announced the 2nd season. Well we all know why it's got one, and tbh i'm not really complaining lol. Just wonder what kind of plot it's gonna have.

well there's "plot" i'm looking forward to anyway

That did seem really forced.

It kind of was. The original web story/Light novel was meant to be a stand-alone story. It just got so popular he decided to make more.

I think the prequel Fate/Zero didn't need the original Fate/Stay Night.

Even if Fate/Zero doesn't have a proper end on it's own, it had an end that was vague and open to interpretation that everyone can determine to their own accord, which makes it an okay end compared to other anime out there. For me Fate/Zero was just fine on it's own and is held back by the cliche characters of Fate/Stay Night and the idiot of a protagonist. It had action, a good plot and story line, in-depth characters, and such beautiful animations and intense music. I feel almost sorry that the original didn't live up to the prequel.

Fate/Stay night was at a disadvantage in comparison, anyway. F/SN as an anime is based around the love story between Shiro and Saber/Rin/Sakura (depending on the path of the visual novel).

F/Z is an anime based around the Holy Grail war, itself.

Black Butler didn't need Black Butler II! Alois Tranny and pedo spider Claude didn't need to exist!!
But I don't mind Black Butler: Book of Circus (can't wait to see it) and I really hope they animate the ship arc.

A possible other tournament might happen and Rin's other friend decided to visit him since he left Australia.

The Fate/Stay Night adaption was really poor in quality. The VN was way better and the remake should be amazing

Regarding Gunslinger Girl, it only got five volumes in. Six and on-wards was where it started to pick up on the meat of the story with the introduction of Petra. If only they would have adapted the rest, volumes 9-15 especially.

Regarding the second season -- in terms of story, it was more put together than the first. The art style was also closer to the manga (the art style in vol 5 I mean, by vol 10 it was vastly improved). Animation was stiff, though. Music was fitting.

I think Madhouse should have continued adapting it instead of Artland.

Of course it's poor compared to the VN (I wish people would stop comparing it to the VN already, it's unfair), but in and of itself it was decent. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad either.

^^^^Agreed. I didn't understand why there was a Black Butler II to be honest, but I guess when an anime is popular there needs to be more even though some things will never be canon.

I enjoy Black Butler and I hope that the Book of Circus is close enough to the manga. ^_^ I really hope that they will keep going and stick to the original plot line of the manga as well. I really want to see how they will do on the ship arc as well and it will not be a letdown.
