I would say Live Action (made in the US), if it was done right, with good to great actors and a huge Budget!

If that were the case it'd probably end up with Michael Bay, let's all just take a minute to think about the implications.

As long as Michael Bay stays clear from it, America should do fine :P. I'm not a huge fan of James Cameron's Avatar, but I really admire the production values the film has. I'd love it if the Attack on Titan movie has similar production value, or at least close. Doubt they'll stretch the budget that high though

Animated, preferably. I wouldn't mind CGI if it were to be done along the lines of several Final Fantasy movies. I'm least trusting of live-action, because directors tend to veer away the most from the source material with those, and it's most limiting.

That mostly has to do with Avatar having had been in the works since the early 90's. They didn't have the capability to do what they wanted until after Cameron's Titanic, and they used Titanic to help fund Avatar.

"Development of Avatar began in 1994, when Cameron wrote an 80-page treatment for the film." -Wikipedia

" In July 2006, Cameron announced that he would film Avatar for a mid-2008 release and planned to begin principal photography with an established cast by February 2007. The following August, the visual effects studio Weta Digital signed on to help Cameron produce Avatar." -Wikipedia

While Wikipedia is widely known by schools as an unofficial source, I hope it will serve as a source here. According to Wikipedia, it took between 1-2.5 years to complete the CGI for the film.

I think it would be awesome if the Attack on Titan movie was a hybrid live-action/CGI film :D

Anything but live action. Real people suck.

HAHAHAHA I agree, just look at the Dragon Ball live action movie. Trash doesn't even begin to describe that movie.

Live action directed by great Hollywood producers.

Japan can't do decent live actions.

CG would be pretty cool so long as they didn't fuck it up, but for 'anime movie's sake' it's probably best to stay animated. I couldn't deal with live action. Seeing real people zip around on maneuver gear would be cringe-worthily hilarious. There's no way you could do that without it looking stupid.

Thanks for all the replies!!! Everyone definitely has great points as to their selection, even if you voted for no AOT movie to be made. And I totally agree please DO NOT let Michael Bay get his hands on it. I mean look at the TMNT, more like aliens than turtles. I get the whole 'lets change the look to be hip for the newer generation' but he did not do them justice. Transformers were cool, but giving Optimus a mouth, NO. Sorry off topic haha. Back to AOT. I like the idea of AOT as a CG if it is like final fantasy or Appleseed, would be pretty cool.

Ok AOT fans, if a movie was made based on the anime what would you rather have:

1) Animated movie
2) Live Action
3)CG

Personally I love animated movies. Especially when they stick to the story.

They probably wouldnt stick to some of the story, for live action they would probably change the cannons to tanks and the way they fly around as well. Seems like a technology gap. Thats the difference with anime you can do that but for live action they would have to change some things IMO.

I dont know, but from the looks of it, does not look to bad. However movie posters are often deceiving

One thing I do not like is live action with a bunch of CG in it....uggggh!!!! So annoying
