^ yea me and manga sometimes. Did it in the AoT thread and Magi a tiny bit.

I wanted to talk about changes and what people thought of them.

Theres not really a place to compare. You either got a manga thread barely touched or an anime thread moving good, but some people have issues with non anime being in there.

We need compare threads.

To be honest...I've always felt like it was something that certain users take pride in and feel it sets them apart from non-readers. It like, "haha! i read the source material and know what will happen at what time and you don't!" Sort of a superiority complex with some users. That in it self doesn't bother me the worst...what really bothers me is when the show diverts from the source material and they complain about what it skipped or changed and automatically render whatever they are shown irrelevant since it didn't stick to the source material.

I don't even go into threads for shows adapted from LN's this season and read other comments much anymore. No Hitsugi no Chaika, no Brynhildr, no Mahouka, no NGNL. I'll see for myself what the ANIME has to offer.

Most the time when an anime makes a change, I like to think of why - most the time it makes perfect sense. And then I like to see what they did instead.. And most the time I think they were clever.

There are many of these in Magi, more to the end of S1 and a bit in season 2.

Never bothered me.

And a certain amount of this, it keeps me out of threads I'd like to participate in to some degree.

I mean, there are good and bad moments in those threads with the readers.

There are good points to having readers point out the faults in an adaptation: point TWGOK3
Half the people watching the anime would probably have no idea they skipped a crap load of chapters to get where they were. Characters were introduced left and right and viewers were expected to know who they were (if you skipped the OVAs you would be pretty screwed too).
Heck, me and a couple of others helped point out to a bunch of people to check out the manga for those parts or else they were going to be very confused on who these characters were, their motivations for getting involved etc. and these characters were main cast too.

Who complained here?

Only issue I had with it was it felt too fast for me. I never read LN or Manga of it. Thats just from the anime.

There's a reason for that, at least for people who have read the manga. Their complaints are legitimate.

Edit: For all those who have not read the manga and enjoy Black Bullet, do not read the manga.

I would like to raise one point - how is anime adapted from light novels different from anime adapted from manga?

Wouldn't they raise the same problems?

C'mon man I remember I complained once in that thread after I read the manga. All I'm saying was it's not like people are hating on the show just to hate on it. I just felt it needed more episodes and it would have been really fantastic. I like it right now(only because I stopped reading the source material).

It's the same concept, hence why I brought it up. It doesn't only apply to light novels. It can also apply to visual novel anime adaptions too. Any anime that derives it's source material from somewhere else kind of is involved with the topic of this thread (Mekakucity Actors and the MVs for it).
