Well, one thing I always wonder whether it makes me hypocritical or not: Sympathy.
While I am usually a very cold person, when it comes to something I would hate having done/said to me, I'd try putting it less bluntly.
Can't really think of anything else other than that, I believe that pretending to be something you're not is pointless.

I wasn't saying it wasn't, I was just asking for more information as to why it was hypocritical. Oh well...

Then how is loving vampire stories but hating the sight of blood hypocritical? I don't get it at all...

True it isn't totally hypocritical, but vampire stories usually celebrate the love of blood, that is why it is hypocritical. Also I try to adhere to the Christian ethos.

^Point. That is not being hypocritical. Hypocrisy would be, for example, loving to watch vampire stories, but telling your friends how much you despise vampire stories.

As for me, I often say encouraging and inspiring things to others in need, but my own mind is infested with negative thoughts and I don't take my own advice.

True nit isn't totally hypocritical, but vampire stories usually celebrate the love of blood, that is why it is hypocritical.

As Kokorowohiraite said below, that's not being hypocritical. You're just exerting yourself.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Is doing that entirely different from feeling sympathy for others?
If so, then I'll also add that to my list of hypocritical acts I commit.

I guess it would be a matter of opinion. I don't feel like I am exerting my self, but whatever... I did not create this thread to argue. I created so that people could have fun making fun of themselves.

I would destroy the universe, but also donate organs. I will lend money of any amount, but I will not give to charity. I disagree with religion, but think it is not pointless. People are the worst, but they are still people.

I believe in equal treatment for everyone, but still appreciate a "gentleman" when I meet one.

I have very little empathy for other humans, and yet I am in school to become a Psychiatrist.

Hey, make me cannibalistic and I could be Hannibal Lecter.
