What are your predictions for the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup? Who do you think will reach what round and why? Where are you from and are you going to go to Brazil for the tournament?

As an Irishman, cheering for Japan, below contains my predictions for this year's World Cup!

Brazil: I want Brazil to win their sixth cup, but I have a feeling that they will screw up defensively and Fred not really being that really reliable up-front
Predicted Finish: Runners Up

Croatia: These slavs have been dominating with the likes of Modric, Mandzukin, and Rakitic, but defensively they are pretty flimsy.
Predicted Finish: Last 16

Spain: They have been dominant champions in Europe and the world, but they are aging, and with David Villa losing his touch and Costa now being injury-prone, Spain have to really dig if they want to get past strong defenses and stop relying on the creative efforts of Iniesta, Xavi, and David Silva, but maybe the extra creativity provided by the newly welcomed Koke will be enough.
Predicted Finish: 3rd overall

Netherlands: What can I say besides that they don't deliver when it really counts, sure they were undefeated in qualifying, but more teams than people like to admit also went through undefeated. Like I said, they don't deliver, and just like Euro's 2012, they will dissapoint
Predicted finish: Last 16

Colombia: They have a lot of firepower that people aren't aware of, they are practically an Argentina with a decent defense.
Predicted Finish: Quarter Finals

Japan: I really don't no much about Japan, other than the fact that they really can dig deep down and make something out of nothing.
Predicted Finish: Quarter Finals

Italy: They have a vastly aging squad like Spain, but they have fresh goal-scorers such as Immoblie, Balotelli and Rossi to let the old men like Pirlo and De Rossi sit back to just pass and assist.
Predicted Finish: Quarter Finals

England: They have a great squad, but what they accomplish compared to their full potential is piss-poor, plus their manager doesn't even have an official formation yet.
Predicted Finish: Last 16

France: France has the same problem England has, only difference is that their players know when to work together and get serious, even if it didn't seem that way at the 2010 World Cup.
Predicted Finish: Quarter Finals

Switzerland: They have a good squad with plenty of fresh legs, but it'll be that freshness and inexperience that gets them hammered in the last 16.
Predicted Finish: Last 16

Argentina: Now I know many people say that they are Quarter or Semi Finalist, but they're back four is horrendous. Also, having most defenders under 6 feet tall and trying stop Dzeko or any German defenders in set pieces, they will fail.
Predicted Finish: Last 16/ Quarter Finals

Bosnia: They are the new kids, and have great creativity in mid-field with the best Serie A CM's Pjanic and Ljajic, and a strong forward in Dzeko, they can break down teams.
Predicted Finish: Last 16/ Quarter Finals

Germany: Brazil are the team I want to succeed, but Germany are the team I think will succeed. They got to the semi-finals with a worse squad they currently have, and the beauty of Germany is that they have an arsenal of creative mid-fielders and they can score a ton of goals even without a definitive striker. They are the European Superpower.
Predicted Finish: Champions

Portugal: They have a great squad but can't click right, unless their lives are in danger, and even then they can barely defeat Sweden.
Predicted Finish: Last 16

Belgium: They have and incredible team, with as much versatility as Spain, Italy, or Germany, but due to most of their attacking star being young and inexperienced, I feel that they will not live up to the moment. Maybe World Cup 2018.
Predicted Finish: 4th overall

Russia: Not much to say on Russia, other than the fact they have a very strong squad and could have made it farther in the tournament if they weren't pitted against the powerhouse and war machine known as Germany.
Predicted Finish: Last 16

My predictions may seem a little lazy, because they are, but i was in a hurry and they are basically a summary of my thoughts. Have any question or comments that my abruptness couldn't answer, don't worry, I'll be on later.

Doesn't matter, soccer is an irrelevant "sport" regardless; If they banned it, fewer people would die in soccer riots.

Croats? Really? I thought it was acceptable to call any nation that used to be apart of Yugoslavia a slav. Well, the more you know.

*laughs* Football has brought so much love and passion to the world. It's a beautiful sport which has inspired millions, just watch the 2005 Champions League final, Peterborough United vs Kidderminster Harriers (FA Cup 3rd Round Replay, 2013/2014) or the last 5 minutes of Manchester City vs QPR (Match-Day 38, FA Premier League 2011/2012) to see proof of that.

Would love to see the USA win the cup so we can get full recognition within our country. My generation or age group what ever you prefer loves the sport its just the "older" generation that cant seem to accept it. If the US doesn't make it I'll be watching to see if Spain can retain their crown.

Certainly you like to troll, and even in the case you don't, sorry you really seem ignorant, there's a reason soccer is so important and that the World Cup is the most important sport event in the world

Since I want to keep it short I agree that Argentina and Brazil are going to leave without the Cup, sorry but Japan won't be in the top 16 (and I also support Japanese team), I really hope Germany wins and no USA champion, but you have to recognize how much soccer is growing and evolving for them, and as for my country (Mexico) I hope they can reach quater- finals or farther, otherwise heads are going to roll here, also Spain might not repeat the title.
I also hope there won´t be any disturbances from people, that still don't want the World Cup to happen and that they finish the stadiums and everything that still is incomplete
