Hello wonderful people on Crunchyroll, I'd like to know what do you think about anime traps.

Personally I love them and I think they usually make an anime more interesting. Be it for humor purposes or serious background story (yes they exist). I don't know when I realised I like traps in anime. It just happened, I guess? Somehow I did develop this "trap-dar" that goes off when seeing a character who's most likely going to be revealed a trap. It's kind of funny and scary at the same time.

Call me weird if you want but I'm very open minded (Well just a little) and wouldn't really mind dating or marry a Trap . I could see myself just fall over heels for one. Since I love traps in anime, I probably won't have much problem.

So... Would you date an anime trap? Would you marry them? How far would you go with them?

Here are some examples of Anime traps:

They crack me up. The ones in SNAFU, Nanana's Buried Treasure, and If Her Flag Breaks make me laugh. Especially when the MCs get confused.

I would not do anything with an anime trap because they don't exist.

Honestly, they don't bother me. I'm indifferent to them, as I don't look forward to one but don't mind if they appear either. They can be pretty funny at times actually. Haganai has the best "trap."

They confuse me and make me question many things...

Also I feel that I should mention that 2 from this season that I can think of off the top of my head (but can't remember the names of) are some really convincing traps.

Objectively speaking, traps are meant to add a comedic aspect or running gag, usually in a romantic story, as they tend to be just as appealing if not more than the actual heroines themselves, with the punchline that if the mc gave in to his primal desires, he would be branded "gay". They also serve to give the audience a "heads up", that things aren't always as they seem, and for them to look harder into the anime to catch additional clues and such. Traps have their own fanbase, too- fujoshi, gays, shota/loli-cons, and even some males who succumb to their delusions, as traps are often even more feminine than girls themselves, yet posses the body of a boy. Though they are quite overused now, there was a time when the concept of adding a feminine boy or masculine girl was highly controversial, though, as with all other unorthodox creations, it eventually became a widely popular fetish. Some traps, however, are used to portray a subtle, deeper message that there are certain things that cannot be changed- no matter how much one may wish for it.

My opinion?
I love traps (not personally, but as in their roles in anime). I really can't help but laugh and smile, and sometimes my heart even skips a beat (but it's not love). Although I would not want to date a trap, since I am bound by the restrictions of gender and sex, I cannot truthfully say that I don't think it's exciting and/or amusing to see a trap in a relationship- no matter how far- with an anime character, be it boy or girl.

I think they add twist's sometimes to an anime. I like them because they are usually really funny and get a good laugh outta me.
