I find the anime to be rather funny, a bit freaky every now and then, and relate-able to my life in some cases though not a whole lot. I got some feelings from it sometimes. ^~^

One of my all time favorites, it is a show that almost perfectly encompasses the life of a lonely friendless kid in high school. If you were a shy kid who had trouble making friends in school you can find something to relate to.

I loved watching Tomoko and her zany adventures. There was so much random stuff that happened that made me actually laugh out loud. I just had a great time watching the show and really thought Tomoko was cute and endearing in her own creepy kind of way. It was like Welcome to the NHK except without the MC becoming more normal at the end.

No matter how I look at It, These Pics of Tomoko Say it All!

The message of the show was to not give a crap what others think about you, and to not do stupid things to make yourself look cool, because then you are just a hipster trying to fit in and not really being yourself. In the end, Tomoko realizes how truly silly she was trying to be popular in the first place and that she would have been better off just being herself to make true friends who appreciated her for who she really is. She has that one childhood friend who became popular, but in doing so has become somewhat of a "plastic" hiding her true nature. Yet, despite being a "plastic" she still realizes the value of her friendship with Tomoko. I gave it a 9/10 on MAL which is 0.5/5 according to the OP.

Really, the whole show is about being true to yourself and not conforming to society for the sake of gaining others' approval. That message is masterfully woven into this dark comedy with Tomoko being such an extreme eccentric, and I love it.

Watamote was my favorite anime of the previous year. When I finished it, I was under the impression that (according to my personal tastes) the series was perfect. I plan to rewatch it very soon (as its been about a year), and if my opinion still holds, then it will be one of only two shows that i've ever considered to be perfect.

It had the greatest blend of comedy and tragedy I had ever seen. Plus, it also featured the most relatable main character I've ever encountered in any anime series thus far (for me, at least). I also took some very personal insight from the series, since it satirized many of the faults I myself committed as an unpopular loner - Faults which I still make, on occassion

Finally, Watamote was the show which convinced me to get a premium membership to Crunchyroll. Before it aired, I was a free user - but I decided to pay specifically for access to Watamote in high definition on the day it came out. Even though I subscribed for Watamote, I never looked back after that lol

Assuming 5 is the highest rank (since that's more natural to me), I give Watamote a 5 out of 5.

It was ok. Entertaining at least and was pretty funny. 6/10 for me.
