Ahem... so, getting back to specific characters, no one has mentioned Riko (Love Lab) yet? She even has all the girls lovestruck...

It's actually pretty common for popular tomboy characters to have at least one "Oneemance" admirer of some sort, often bordering on flat out Yuri, even though there are many times that the admirer won't admit it.

I'm quite fond of tomboyish characters, but I personally enjoy the ones who are more... boyish, I guess? Not that it really matters. I just can't really tell the difference between a tomboy and a regular female character most of the time lol. Its become fairly common now to have at least one female character who's rather aggressive and outspoken. They also tend to have short hair and an straightforward attitude. I personally find these characters rather girly, so to me the line between tomboyish characters and non-tomboyish characters is rather blurry.

Some examples which I particularly like are Kana from Haibane Renmei and Tomokane from GA: Geijutsuka Art Design Class.

Well not really into tomboys but when it comes to games where you can do a lot of customizations on your characters I usually make a female androgynous character with brown skin color... I dunno just like my characters look a bit boyish with a tan...

like so: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v472/Aoko/akonii_zpsc2b81f46.jpg

I really like that look, too. The tanned skin/silver hair combo. And speaking of dark-skinned tomboys, that reminds me of Freya from Strongest Disciple. Definitely a fierce female fighter, and she's even got her own harem of admirers in The Valkyries.

(Pictures are large, so I'll post them under spoilers)

Someone mentions Cornelia? What about Kallen?

I think Kallen is alright and I acknowledge her piloting skills, but I don't admire her. She doesn't click with me.

THIS, THIS OVER HERE ^

Yeah i really liked her a lot, honestly but i know for sure the tsundere Amu from Shugo chara had me there for a little while even though it was just her outside character i was really attracted to.

But i've got to say.. Makoto from THE iDOLMASTER, is one of my top 5.

lol. Although technically futanari are hermaphrodites rather than transvestites, so I think he's on a different page than you.

At this point all I know is he likes "things."

LOL - that's rather violent. Maybe a tomman instead of a tomboy XD

On a somewhat serious note though, I've always found such aggressive personalities and gender role reversals interesting. Well, not to such a forceful and exaggerated extent though lol

Yep. Tomboys are awesome. Red hair is a plus. Short hair? Even better. Wild bangs and a mischievous smile? Done and done. Kicks some serious ass? Take my heart. A toned body and milk jugs that don't jiggle with every step or throw her off balance? That my friend is grade A material.

Anywho... some noteworthy additions:
Taiga (Toradora)
Misaka Mikoto (Railgun)
Shana (Shakugan no Shana)
Kirihime (Dog & Scissors)
Maka (Soul Eater)
Akari (Capt. Earth)
Sonoshee McLaren (Redline)
Erika (Irregular at Magic High School)
Haruhara Haruko (FLCL)
Tokaku Azuma (Riddle of the Devil)
Clare (Claymore)
Canaan (Canaan)
and of course, the hacker of all hackers,
Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV (Cowboy Bebop)
