So I love Say I love you because there's actual progress in the relationship between Mei and Yamato and how she's becoming a more open person. The thing that kinda bugged me was that her hair in the anime didn't change, I noticed it even more in the Land episode. I really like her longer hair and she looked so pretty with it And I also took it as her progression and change. Does anyone know why her hair wasn't changed in the anime? What are your thoughts on this anime all together?

I found out I really liked Slice of Life types of manga and anime with it, but to each his own. Are there any anime that category that you liked?

I can related to Mei in someway especially in the hair. My hair looks almost exactly like her hair except that my hair is a little shorter in the back but longer in the front head plus my hair color is black

I love slice of life anime/manga, and romance is in fact probably my favorite xD I just didn't like Say i love you. It's very different from Kimi no todoke, which is my favorite romance/shoujo

I only read through Say "I Love You" on scanlations once, but I seem to remember her going through her hair change stuff later on, after the point of what was adapted as an anime.

I like Say I Love You more because...

I like romance anime to progress. Kimi ni Todoke is good but too slow to be my favorite.

The hair not growing is because anime character designs don't usually change that much. I agree in the manga her hair gets longer and Mei gets prettier every book.

Say I Love You manga is even better!

Aww it only took Kimi ni Todoke 18 or 19 volumes didn't it?

But yeah I agree I like the progression of Say I Love You more... though I admit since the chapters come out only every so often, I tend to get characters mixed up occasionally..

Say I Love You volume 13 comes out next month!

While Say I Love You took less than that for them to...

We need more good shoujo romance. While not quite the same I am enjoying The World is Still Beautiful this season.

I really need to get around to learning Japanese... BUT Say I Love You is starting to come out in English officially if I remember correctly, so it might be like 3-5 years but I may eventually own the series.

Yes it definitely didn't take long for Say I Love You.

The..

definitely threw me for a loop because I wasn't expecting it I think when going into the series reading it.

We do need more good shoujo romance. There is a distinct lack of good ones...

Yeah I think after that, I started backing away from the series a bit. I still liked it but ultimately thought it was second or third tier at the end. I didn't read the manga though so maybe I would have a different opinion of it if I had. For reference, Toradora is a good example of a top tier romance for me.

Well, the fact that they kissed in the first episode is what turned me off....
The kiss didn't have very much impact or significance to me because it happened too early without any character or plot development.

In kimi no todoke theres so much retarded shit that gets you frustrated and mad , and so when it finally happens, its pretty satisfying, even if it took 18 volumes x)

It has been a long time since I watched the anime honestly, I can't remember them doing it in the anime... thought it was just implied and near the end of the series?

The manga gets a little more... detailed...

Not that I dislike that.....

I was talking about the whole "other woman" thing where that girl tells Mei

Ohhhhh that... I... vaguely remember that yeah. If I remember correctly it was just a device used to try to stir jealousy... not that it didn't happen, just how it was used didn't bother me I guess.
