I know some people who do it as a hobby, same as those who collect pennies, and various other things.

But eh, that's people I know.

I carry a pocket knife or two, comes in great when I don't have any eating utensils and one of them is a multi-tool

knives were only designed to slice/stab
guns are designed to shoot

they are both tools
what they are used on is up to the people using them.

drugs have been banned, around the world, for decades. how easy is it to get illegal drugs?
do you really think that banning guns will stop anything?

I never give up my guns or my knives.. for one it was a hand gun that saved my life... wen I was walking my dog I was attacked by a bear, if it was not for the fact I had my hand gun with me that bear would have killed both me and my dog. I love my knives as well I think I posted some old pics of me and my knifes on this site.

Er I'd say yes, at least unlike guns they serve other uses.

That's what the kicker of it all is. Can you imagine trying to go through life without once cutting SOMETHING. Cooking wound be very difficult. So would opening packages. And that's just the start. Although some things should be banned, sure, the utility of things matters and I think in general people are just very ban happy.

I am strongly for gun-bans, but for this. I'd say no. This is based on one bit of logic.

Knives are used every day, by almost everyone in the world, as a tool.
Most people will never even hold a gun.

I have a quick-open hybrid knife on me at all times. Helps me feel safer and it helps get me into stubborn packages etc...The problem with banning weapons is that only the law abiding citizens follow said ban laws. You're left with an unarmed populace living among armed criminals.

They're not even the most effective weapons that are allowed sale, so I don't see why. Guns are sold and far more effective than knives, so why not sell knives. Knives are also sold as cutting instruments for food. You can't really get rid of them entirely. If you do, people will fashion weapons out of other items anyway.

Since knifes are used for multiple uses, I definitely think every one showed be allowed to have them.

I don't see how any laws preventing people from owning any militarized knives would stop anything.

Since we're an Asian Media dedicated site, just look at Japan. If people want to slice others up, they get a cooking knife. You can't make a law preventing people from owning kitchen cutlery.

I have several knives, they've been made with different purposes in mind. Some are made for eating, others for cutting meat or vegetables, yet they can all be used for criminal purposes.

In the hands of someone sufficiently motivated and perhaps talented, even a spoon could be lethal.
