seeing the same thing here, can't watch more than 5 minutes without it buffering. The app needs the ability to force the quality setting, i'd be happy with SD or 480P if i could watch it as a continuous sequence... I'd rather put up the commericals in the free one and go back to using a PC tied to my big tv than this. The PS3 app was the main reason i opted for the premium membership.

Hope they figure this out soon, pretty much unwatchable like this.

I'm having the same problem from the DC area. Usually I'll get one or two episodes OK and then the trouble starts: the app will pause in the middle of playback, and then play for three seconds before stopping again; lather, rinse, repeat. Restarting the app does nothing and often makes the problem worse: I will try to open a video and it will give me a black screen for as long as I care to sit there staring at it. Folks, I pay for 50/25 FIOS service, and I can tell you that bandwidth/resolution is not the issue here; PS3 is wired directly into the router as well.

It seems to me like I cannot remember a time when I was able to use the CR PS3 app without trouble of some kind, and frankly it's incredibly frustrating as a paying member. I can't help thinking it might be best to rebuild the app from the ground up.

Yeah, I've been having the exact same problem. No matter what console/medium we use to watch the anime, we're all still paying the same money. Crunchyroll needs to get on this biz and make sure all their apps are functioning correctly for all of their users. I pay for my membership because I want to support the industry and the service and having no commercials and HD is nice, but it means jack if it's going to stutter and buffer every 30 seconds.

The Irregular At Magic High School Episode 16 was unwatchable on the app tonight. Had to switch over to my PC. Massive buffering :/

I was running into the same issue, but after i made a couple of changes the issues have disappeared.

Like others I was unable to stream properly on my PS3 for more than 3 - 5 minutes, but it worked fine on my laptop.

Not sure which step fixed it, so YMMV. Not sure if it was DNS issue or App issue. Maybe someone can try step 3 and see if it fixes it.

1) Delete Crunchyroll & Re-download it from Playstation Store.
2) I wasn't able to install Crunchyroll App update 1.03, it gave me an error of 80710103. Looked this up online and it turns out this is a DNS issue.
3) Went into Settings > Network Settings > Internet Connection Settings -> Custom -> Wired / Wireless -> chose Auto except for "DNS Setting" -> Choose Manual -> Primary = 8.8.8.8 Secondary = 8.8.4.4 (these are Google Public DNS Servers). -> keep going and accept
4) I was able to update Crunchyroll to 1.03 at this point.
5) Been streaming ok since 12am.

I'm on the Vita and have been having the same issues.

It's really frustrating when you pay for a service and it becomes unusable for so many subscribers for this long without the content provider even posting to say they acknowledge the problem.

Please do something about this CR. I'm not asking you to say you'll have it fixed by tomorrow but even saying something like "We understand this problem is affecting our users and hope to a fix out soon!" would be nice. When I don't see anything at all from you I start to think you're just hoping the problem will just go away on it's own which I certainly hope is not the case.

I've already complained in another thread before, but I wanted to add here: it used to only happen under what I assumed was peak hours. Now it's been happening at pretty much any given time. If it fails to buffer too long, it'll skip to another episode. It's incredibly annoying. Considering how long this has gone on without any sort of fix or acknowledgment, unless they refund us for the month that this has been going on or come over to everyone's house and personally apologize to us for them having such horrible service, I will never subscribe to this service again.

Yep this is really bad. Hardwired Ps3 is halting and failing regularly, even though my ipad can handle it with no glitching over wireless. They need a new sony platform programmer.

Edit: Nevermind. PC is failing as well. Service fail.

Its happening on the PS4 as well it keeps pausing however it just doesn't return

After the update everything was fine, then when watching any anime for 5 or 8 min the episodes begin to lag. If I go on my PC; episodes play without a problem. So I'm not sure what happened with the App update, but at least I get some homework done with the 5-10 min annoying wait time for the episode I'm watching to continue playing.

But the most annoying thing is when the app gets annoyed or the PS3 itself.....and skips the episode you have been wasting 50 min trying to watch on to the next one! WTFFF!
