Angel beats, Clannad, One piece, The Melancholy of Haruhi Sazumiya, Toradora, Baccano, Durarara, Cowboy bebop, Higurashi, Magi, Monster, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Gintama and Hitman reborn.

Forced myself through Angel beats and Clannad afterlife, thinking something appealing or slightly interesting would happen towards the end.

Sword Art Online yep I really like Sci-fi anime but when someone recommended SAO to me and I started watching it... It just doesn't have that spark of interest in me. Good story idea but the storyline became boring half way through. It just doesn't have that curiosity a Sci-fi anime is supposed to give off. I think the reason this anime got popular is because of the animation. (Some weaboos just watch anime for the animation.)

For me it was the soundtrack. Never heard anything so amazing before

With certain entertainment mediums certain things have to click, be set in place, and understood before you can fully enjoy (or even understand) something. Of course there are also time where even when all of those thing connect you still can't get into it.
That said I think the only anime I couldn't get into was SaO (although I dropped it halfway when everyone turned into an elf).
Your approach is what determines how much enjoyment you get out of it. NEVER say things like "I don't get what's happening", or "this is stupid" because that instantly kills immersion and enjoyment. You have to kinda let yourself get caught up and lost in whats happening (even if you don't understand a single damn thing: Kara no Kyoukai, and Fate/ Zero anyone?).
Remember this is for your own enjoyment instead of giving up because something doesn't seem right try a different angle (even look stuff up if you have to).

The entire development of the series is done randomly, I don't know why they chose to do this because I never realised until quite recently actually... Supposedly the episodes are done in an incorrect order, and if you shuffle them around there is a progressive way to watch it, but the narration within the series obviously doesn't change, so they speak about things that haven't happened yet.

General mind fuck basically.

Hmm, for me I'd say Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I'm not a big fan of magical girls shows and people recommended this as a deconstruction of the genre and told me not to worry it was not like any magical girl show before. Then I tried it and I'm also not a fan of overly dark and depressing themes, which this is also ripe with. Then still I decided to struggle through it to see what all the hype was about and found I also was turned off by the witch world animation and story. The eerily simplistic elements used were a bit too creepy for my liking and I thought the story was kind of, well, dull.

Dude, you just took the words right out of my mouth

Well, when you force yourself to watch it...

As for me:

Gintama.

The Monogatari or whatever series (all of them).

They are hyped through the roof, but I just can not watch them, I always get bored or confused and do something else while the episode it playing.

I'm sure there are more... but that is all that comes to mind right now.

No Game No Life

In the long run it's probably good, but I don't see the appeal.

I cant get into Attack on Titan I watched the first two episodes and I just didnt want to watch the rest at all, it could be either the naked giant zombies were a turn off, or it was something about how I couldnt care at all no matter how I tried for the main character. Hunter X Hunter I dropped as well midway though the ant arc because to me it just seemed like it was extended beyond reason and feels like the mangaka tossed away the other characters as if they were scrubs that get in the way.

This, for me. I gave it a good 12 episodes, too.

I didn't like Madoka nearly as much as others do but it was one of my first magical girl anime so I didn't get a surprise like a lot of others did. I did finish it though and it's not terrible just kinda meh.

Others I didn't like but slowly getting through are Code Geass and Fate/Zero.

With Code Geass it kept putting me to sleep and also felt like it was going to do a Guilty Crown second half which put me off it as well.

I found Fate/Zero repetitive and they kept stopping mid fight to have 10 minute conversations which started to irritate me after a while.

It depends on how the second half goes but No Game No Life could easily be going on this list as well.

One Piece, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Bleach, Fairy Tail, Gurran Lagann, etc. Basically anything really shounen-y and childish. I know that sounds really condescending, and I don't mean it to, but I just can't get into these. I've tried. I know they're not bad, but I'm just not the audience for them, and I can't get into the really silly action stuff. I tend to be more into the more boring, slower paced slice-of-life and/or romcom seinen and josei stuff.

I also think some others are terrible, but were somehow popular anyway. Stuff like Death Note, Elfen Lied or anything and everything I've seen that's Persona related.
