OMG, I need to get that OST. NOW.

My thoughts exactly. I'm also glad they brought back BACK-ON for the theme song.

I debated with myself whether or not to stay up and catch it as it is uploaded or to sleep and what in the morning, in the end I fell asleep. it was a good first episode all that I feel is missing is Sei's mom.

That was a damn good start. Good characters, great fights and killer soundtrack.

Like Ral said, this kid is the second coming of Reiji. Don't know if this series will connect to Reiji's world in anyway but it would be cool.

New Particle system is probably Niel's doing

I find Try way more interesting than Gundam Reconguista in G.

Found a picture of Yuuma as a kid in episode 3. He went from a brown to blue hair.

This was back in episode 3 near the end where China was buying Yuuma’s first gunpla model.

InsomnistI'm not sure how many people will actually care about the story, but the folks behind it aren't messing around.

Agreed, it's almost disgusting that a blatant toy commercial about moving plastic models could be this good.

Loveable characters, awesome action, excellent music and a sense of pure ethusiastic FUN. I'm sold.

Found my ships:
Mirai x Yuuma and Sekai x Fumina.
Calling it now.

On a more related note:

Episode 1:

OH MY GOD ITS FINALLY HEAR AAAH! The OST was great, I'm curious as to how the show will go but so far a very solid start. The detail on the mechs is well done and quite frankly that's all that matters for a series that is clearly made to make you want to buy models (the first season very much succeeded in this way) so heres to seeing all the new Gunpla that'll be sold in the next few months or so! No complaints on how the characters have been set up so far, although there have been some asspulls but this is a fun series. It's not like normal Gundam series in the sense that it is serious in tone. It's a lighthearted show that succeeds in being fun.

PS:
After watching Gundam G no Reconguista and now Gundam Build Fighters: Try, I'm already loving the hell out of Try, Reconguista is gonna take awhile as those first two episodes were infodumps along with the second episode having some serious whiplash change in direction. However they are both gundam and mech so I'll fight through the confusion.

Oh my gosh that was perfect.

And now I understand all the 00 and G Gundam references lol. Thank goodness too, because Sekai is basically Domon. Also, the principal of their school is Master Asia lol

I think it's fairly obvious that Sekai and Mirai are both from Reiji's world. He can manipulate Plavsky particles, has a weird name, red hair, and natural talent; he didn't have any contact information about Mirai other than her name. Hopefully this will become an actual part of the plot rather than a fantasy-aside sort of thing.

Gunpla I like it. Action, some twists and without fanservice to prop it up!

Didn't think it would be this good!
Just like everyone said, it got a better start than Gundam Reconguista in G.
The only thing I don't like is that they made Sekai use another Domon-like gundam after season 1.
But I may love it if the finish move is something iai sword slash like Domon.

Only thing I disliked is how quickly Fumina got thrown aside to make the show all about the boys. C'mon Gundam, I know you're not a franchise that's traditionally been girl-friendly but you can do better! C'mon!

Fumina is awesome, I really hope she gets to shine for real instread of being allowed to be badass when the guys aren't around.

That was a really good first episode. Like "In my top three of the season so far" good. They introduced the protagonist and established the central storytelling device, then sequentially went through the rest of the immediate cast establishing their personalities, relationships, goals and respective positions. They've set up their theme, and it and the conflict and the storytelling device all overlay. No scene or dialogue was wasted, everything was giving you information.

They even controlled how close to each character the audience feels (there was probably some smart cinematography behind that). And then the OST took it all up a rank. Most of the rest of the season has been phoned in by comparison.

I'm not sure how many people will actually care about the story, but the folks behind it aren't messing around.

Not only that, but the S1 cast has chars who are actually over the age of 16 and competent.

And actually get decent screen time.

Felt like it was (maybe better?) than Log Horizon in that regard, in the balancing of the different audiences for the series.

Ep. 1:

Agree with others who said it was lame how blondie went from being MC and POV char to just POV because "lol vagina."

Ral showing up was great. No waifus, which was disappoint. Don't like the dynamic between the chars so far. If I hadn't seen S1 before this, I'd probably be thinking of dropping if not for the mech porn and giving kudos for the technical skill, like Insom said.

MUSHROOM MAN FELL IN LOVE:

Overall, another solid episode of battles. I feel like the main characters are getting stronger every time they compete. The OP song was nice too along with that ED.

Another fun episode. But they REALLY need to stop using the girl of the team as the damsel in distress.

(For anybody interested, that Rinko figure that lit up CR News a few days back is now one of the Crunchyroll Deals of the Day.)
