Exactly. It's not like it's Gintama.

Cowboy Bepop is widely regarded as some of the best anime of all time... Yet I've tried watching it three times, and I always drop it right around when a certain someone goes through a window. I don't know what it is, but I just can't quite get into it.

So, I'm going to try to watch it through this weekend.

Please fill the comments with reasons why it's awesome, and I'll do my best to join in later.

I don't really blame. I watched this anime probably about two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was it good enough, considering my own tastes, to watch the series a second time? No. I can see why it's a classic, but that doesn't mean it's my favorite anime of all time. I say just keep pushing to say you've watched it (because it truly is an anime that needs to be greatly appreciated). It will feel good to finally say," I have watched Cowboy Bebop! "

Edit: Almost forgot (from what i can remember):

Pros:
+ Awesome story

+Good characters

+Solid animation

+Glorious soundtrack

Cons:

- (this may sound odd) but from what i can remember, although it is a great story and all, it did tend to lose my interest every now and then.

- ending does not provide much closure (although the way Cowboy Bebop does it is more 'cool' than being irritating if that makes sense lol

-episodic nature of the anime may throw people off (like it kinda did for me. This could also be included in the first con i mentioned).

All right, I finished the first season/episode 13.
I don't LOVE it, and I wouldn't rank it in my top 10 or anything, but I like it enough that I want to know what happens next, and I really want to know the back stories of these characters now. All in all, I can see why it's a classic, and I'm glad I decided to watch it today.
Now, on to season 2!

Cowboy Bebop is what I would call one of my anime touchstones. The first time I saw it, I was like "this is what television could be ALL THE TIME!" From the world building, to the score, to the characters, to the stories, all of it, made everything else on television drab and weak in comparison. I understand that it's not going to be for everyone, and that timing certainly has a part to play on your emotional connection to it. I was lucky enough to see it around the year 2000, and it completely blew me away. If you're not into it, don't force yourself to try and endure it. You'll only come away disappointed.

Bebop was quadruple ounces of cool with virtually no anime trope whatsoever (Fan service Faye notwithstanding, but even she has a surprising amount of depth compared to your usual vixen). Sometimes I forget Bebop is even an anime, as I consider it more of a work of art along the lines of classic noir with a touch of sci fi and Bruce Lee.

Bebop is aged fine wine compared to the cheap beer that is most of anime nowadays. It requires a level of sophistication to really enjoy beyond its action, especially when a lot of what goes on in Bebop is conveyed in subtext. I guess that's the motion picture nerd in me speaking. But I will say exploring Bebop in a more intellectual manner made it even more fulfilling to watch.

Just watch Mad Pierrot's episode and call it good.

I think what it is when people go into bebop is that they expect too much of it and the first few episodes were quite boring. But to each their own and im glad you were finally able to make it trough it.
