Conrad
That’s way too much praise Sir.
(Smiles)
Nobleman 2
But it’s all true, aren’t they? For a great man such as you, such praise is not even enough.
(Laughs)
Conrad
(Smiles)

Good evening, may I speak to Sir Conrad?
Butler
Please wait a moment.
(Goes to Conrad and hands him the phone)
Conrad
Hello? Who is this?
Phone
This is Gunther Montpellier; we need your assistance here in St. Etienne. Can you come?
Conrad
Why? What happened there?
Phone
I’ll explain the details when you’re here already.
Conrad
Ok then, I’ll go there as soon as possible.
(The next day Conrad prepared everything for his trip)
Conrad
Lorelei, I’ll be going to St. Etienne to do something. Please take care while I’m gone.
Lorelei
Take care, father.
(Lorelei bid goodbye to her father and Conrad started his trip)

Gunther
Thank you very much Sir Conrad, because of you I was able to fix these things.
Conrad
No problem. It is my pleasure; well I have to go now.
Gunther
Oh! Please wait a moment.
(Runs toward the room then comes back)
Here
(Hands a beautifully designed sword)
This is for you, as a sign of my gratitude.
Conrad
(Accepts the sword)
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Well, goodbye now.
Gunther
Take care and goodbye
(Shakes hand)

AT THE MANSION OF MARSIELLE
Narrator
Conrad returned home very late and he is really tired so he immediately went upstairs to rest. Then the next day…
Conrad
Butler! Butler!
Narrator
Conrad went to the living room and even in the kitchen but no one answered. Then he looked for his daughter but for some reason he couldn’t find her. He started to be worried because the butler should be in the house.
Conrad
Where could they be?
Narrator
He tried to search his big mansion but couldn’t find anyone, and then he went to the garden maze. There, floating in the fountain lays the dead body of his beloved daughter. He was so shocked that he couldn’t move. After a while he manages to come to his senses and immediately approached his daughter. She is bathing in her own blood that even the water in the fountain turned red. He was in a state where he couldn’t do anything but to embrace his daughter’s corpse. Then he saw the sword that killed his daughter, it was the sword given to him by Gunther. He put down his daughter and held the sword. He unaware of what of what’s he’s doing anymore and then unexpectedly, someone saw him.
Nobleman 1
(Screams)
Conrad, what have you done?
Narrator
The nobleman was shocked when he saw Lorelei’s corpse, while Conrad holding a blood stained sword and covered with blood. He’s doesn’t know what to do so he didn’t wait for Conrad’s reply. He was so afraid that all that he could do is to run away.
Conrad
This isn’t what you think it is!!!!
Narrator
And so Conrad tried to run after the nobleman to explain what happened but it was too late. And so it is as if everyone misunderstood what really happened.

IN THE INTERROGATION ROOM
Police 1
Sir please tells me…why did you do such thing?
Conrad
I told you it was all a misunderstanding! I can never kill my only daughter. You have to believe me…
Police1
Then tell me this then… why are you covered with blood that day? And the thing that killed your daughter is the sword given to you by Sir Gunther Montpellier, the person that you helped in St. Etienne, am I right?
Conrad
Yes, he did give it to me…
Police 1
What are you doing yesterday night? It seems that your daughter was killed that night.
Conrad
Well after I came back I went to my room immediately.
Police 1
Can anyone prove that?
Conrad
Well, after I came back to our house I saw no one because the maids are not around because it’s their day off.
Police 1
So you mean Ms. Lorelei and the butler were the only ones left in the house?
Conrad
Yes, but I wasn’t able to see them.
Am I supposed to believe that? You have nobody to prove your innocence. Other than that, your alibi has faults.
Conrad
That maybe correct but…
Police 1
But that could mean that you’re the only suspect for the killing. Excuse me for my words but even though you’re well respected and rich, it doesn’t mean you’ll get out of this mess that easily. I don’t think it’s possible.

LUXEMBOURG PRISON
Narrator
Conrad is so confused and he lost all his hope of clearing his name. He couldn’t say anything and with the death of his daughter, he only feels pain and didn’t care about what will happen anymore. And so he was accused of being guilty and was sent to Luxembourg with the other prisoners. There, instead of arguing about his innocence, all he did was pray to God, so that he could guide him. He prayed and prayed and after sometime he got used to this lifestyle. He helps the other prisoners and became a companion of the guards. He served as a leader of the prisoners. He showed his knowledge to them and does the things that they are supposed to do.

OUTSIDE THE JAIL
(Digging and picking up stones etc.)
Prisoner 1
Conrad, I heard that there are new prisoners that will be coming today.
Conrad
I see….
Prisoner 2
Well I do hope you’ll help them in the way you helped us.
Conrad
Of course I’ll try to help other people in need.
Narrator
And so after some days the new batch of prisoners came to Luxembourg everyone has their own story to tell…
Newcomer 1
I’m here because they said I stole a horse but I only borrowed it because I’m in a hurry.
Newcomer 2
Well I stole some money.
(Speaking in a defending tone of voice)
But believe me I only did that because my mother is so sick…
Narrator
Everyone listened to the newcomers every single one has their own story to tell…reasons why they did such thing and the changes that occurred in the outside world. Then someone approached Conrad.
Leopold
Hello there. I heard you’re the acting leader of the people here. It’s very nice to meet you.
Conrad
Yes same to you.
(Shakes hand)
Who are you?
Leopold
I’m Leopold Strasbourg I came from Perigueux.
Narrator
Conrad was surprised by what the newcomer said. He didn’t expect to find someone from the same city that he came from. It’s been 10 yrs.
Leopold
So why are you here?
Conrad
Because there’s something I have to be punished for.
Narrator
Leopold stopped saying anything else since he saw how depressed Conrad is. But after a while Conrad told him everything that happened and how he got punished for someone else’s sins.
Leopold
I see… the culprit must be lucky or should I say he’s cunning?
(Smirks)
Narrator
Conrad felt suspicious of Leopold’s strange action.
Conrad
(Speaking to himself)
Why did he react like that?
Narrator
He tried to forget about what Leopold said. He returned to his usual self and assisted the newcomers. Then one night he saw light coming from somewhere…so he followed it.
Conrad
Why is there light at this time of night?
(Walks to the place where it is coming from)
Leopold
Where is it?
(Looks for something)
Where is that Marseille’s locket?
(Picks something up)
Here it is!
Conrad
Where did you get that?
Leopold
Conrad! What are you doing here?
Conrad
I said where did you get that?
(Angry)
Leopold
I haven’t told you right? I’m a thief that’s why I was sent here. I was arrested for attempting to rob a bank in St. Etienne.
Conrad
I see
(Suddenly left)
Narrator
Conrad has mixed emotions he didn’t know what to do so he prayed over and over asking for guidance. The next day they were working and everyone was busy then Leopold stole a working tool and Conrad and some other prisoners saw it.
Conrad
What are you doing?
Leopold
(Nervous)
Don’t tell anyone about this.
Conrad
I don’t care about what you’re planning to do. I’ll do things that God wishes.
(Walks away)
Narrator
As the prisoners are about to return to their wards, the next day the guards stopped them.
Guard 1
Wait! Something’s missing here.
(Counts the tools)
Something’s missing since yesterday.
Guard 2
Are you sure about that?
Guard 1
Of course I am.
Guard 2
Ok who took it? I suppose you’ll use it to get out do you?
Narrator
The prisoners stopped and the guards ask every single one of them. Everyone said no even the ones who saw Leopold. Then it’s Conrad’s turn to be asked.
Guard 1
Conrad, I know you won’t tolerate anyone that does something wrong. After all you are a righteous man so then do you know who stole the working tool?
Conrad
I don’t see any reason for me to tell you that. I’ll only do what God wishes it.
Narrator
No matter how much they force Conrad to tell them who the culprit is, Conrad didn’t say anything more. So they left him and then Leopold approached him.
Leopold
Conrad I’m so sorry I didn’t know you’re a relative of that Marseille. Forgive me.
Conrad
I’m not a mere relative of the girl you killed, I’m his father. But there’s no use in explaining things now. She will never come back, everything that I have lost will never return to me…
Leopold
I’ll confess to them, that may be a little but it will at least serve as my atonement. That way you’ll be able to get out of here and be free…
Conrad
I have spent so many years in this place to atone for your sins. I lost my only daughter, reputation, you ruined my life! Now I have nothing left and I only wish to die in this place…
Narrator
And so Leopold confessed and Conrad, after a few months died.

Crossroads

I never imagined that the sparrows I tended wants to fly with its wide wings and soar in the sky. But as I listen to the sparrows I suddenly felt pain, as if I’m in a very dark place where I’m all alone trying to defeat the loneliness that I’m feeling…
I’m happy to see the sparrows happily chirping and excited as they say things they want to see as they fly. But still, I feel that a part of me doesn’t want to let go of the sparrows because if I did, I’ll be left alone and be forgotten. Two overwhelming feelings are crashing each other, wanting to prove that one is more superior and dominant. So I kept wondering what to choose: the sword or the shield? Should I protect the sparrows and let go? Or cut their wings and put them in a cage so that they will never have to abandon me? I’m confused, I wonder what will be the right decision to take. I’m left in a middle of a crossroad without anyone to talk to and ask for directions. Both roads lead to a different place, if I were to choose between them, will I be able to return to the place I once where? What will I do and what should I choose?

(this are just random.....the idea came from a manga of arina tanemura....)

The End of a Never-ending Abyss

When I woke up I was already in the middle of nowhere, I tried to look for someone but I wasn’t able to find that person. I wandered alone, continued walking in circles, again and again until my feet hurt already…. I couldn’t see the path… as if I’m blinded by the darkness that slowly eats me up. But still, I didn’t lose hope. I wanted to find that person, I want to say to that person so many things… I desperately seek for that person, hoping he will reach his so that he will be able to lead me to the path I used to be in. I’m hoping that he will lead me to the light and help me overcome the darkness. I’m still waiting, in the middle of the pitch black environment waiting for someone to reach out for me…
I wonder if that person will come ?
