Love the entire AC franchise, I preorder each one that's announced and have a ritual near the launch of the new one where I play the older games in order up until the new one is released.

So Yes I'm a big fan of them all and I can't wait for AC Unity, not too keen on Rogue though, but might get just for the sake of having it xD.

I await to fight with you my fellow brothers and sisters!

I would like to backtrack my statement from before and give my opinion after beating it yesterday, mind you just the story cause there was NO WAY I was going back to deal with that giant clusterfuck of a mess.

Now I'll say this only once, so sit back, relax and read my rant/criticism/advice.

Before I begin I must mention, I've followed this series since the very first AC and I've liked every game up until this point MAINLY because of the story and the gameplay. The story drove me to buy the game every time it came out because I enjoyed them immensely. Ezio's story is still by far my favorite. And I enjoy the gameplay for what it was in the past. I was a fan of all the previous AC games before Unity and I was super hyped about getting the game, so when I did get the game I thought I'd find myself having a good time.

I was wrong. Horribly, terribly wrong.

I don't know what happened in Ubisoft's mind that made them think any of this was a good idea, but the amount of bullshit I had to deal with in this game alone drove me up the wall and made me pull my hair in frustration. This game was a challenge to play and not a Good kind of challenge, but a very very bad challenge.

*Story*: I could not find myself caring for Arno in any manner, he bored me too death and his reasons for joining the creed were childish in my personal opinion. And that was detrimental to himself as an 'Assassin' (Note the sarcasm). His story felt underdeveloped and overall very unsatisfactory. It felt like an attempt to copy Ezio's story whose was so much more colorful and filled with a sense of adventure while this just felt stale and weak.

*Gameplay*: While I liked the change to the combat, it was an overall failure in terms of the long term due high volume of framerate and bug's in each encounter. Also for a franchise that's based around the Parkour system, this game seemingly tore apart the parkour system. Trying to traveling across the city of Paris was Triple A cringe worthy. And that's something you don't want to have smeared on a game that focuses heavily on the parkour as a source of movement in the game.

*What I hated*: I never thought I'd say this, but I nearly hated everything in this game since compared to the others this was like a giant mess, a rushed game for a quick buck. I admired their ability to keep the historical history mostly accurate, but overall this game left me with a very bad impression of Ubisoft's future as a game developing company.

And thus I have only one conclusion that I think can be the ONLY way to save this franchise now. Take a few years to recover from this mistake Ubisoft, go over your mistakes and suggestions from your fans, FOR ONCE. And make a game in a time that's been highly anticipated for years. Make a game in Feudal Japan, Egypt, or some other highly anticipated choice and from there entrench yourself's into developing the game for at a good 2 to 3 years.

This way they might, MIGHT redeem themselves and it would give everyone a break from this annual release, because obviously it's not gonna blow over for them if they continue.

Okay done, have a good day everyone.

Unity is becoming notorious for its graphics requirments. So many people are building a new computer for it when they just built one for example my brother rebuilds his com every year making it way better than before he makes alot of money so he can easily built a very epensive machine and even he doesnt meet all the requirments for it.

Plus the fact that it only gets a 30 fps on the ps4 and xbox one is hilarious though those are just lowergrade computers.
I'm no Assassin's Creed fan but for those of you that are I would suggest save ur money for a new com because only playing at 30 fps is inhuman.

Confession Time ... I brought unity without reading it's requirement when i saw it was available on steam and my computer can't handle that thing. In my defense, it can handle AC: Black Flag in high setting so figured the requirement won't be that bloody high.

But despite all that, i am still playing it partly because i am used to playing games that my desktop can't handle properly. It is always around 10 or 20 FPS and lockpicking is a nightmare.

I think the combat style is a lot more fun now partly because we are not gods who always pull off lethal hits on enemies nonstop and enemy actually mob on you. This is the first game where i actually use smokebomb liberally because you need that thing to survive when outnumbered. Now even when i see like 5 or 6 soldiers i actually try to avoid it.

As for parkour, it is actually a lot more fluid and i like it, descending to the ground level is a lot more faster and safer rather than just jumping off the roof.

As for Arno, i don't really like him partly because he ain't awesome compared to Altair / Ezio / Conner / Edward.
Well the developers did say that Arno isn't as pro as those 4 and got a pretty crappy Eagle verison so i guess that's part of the reason
I know i want a protag who is a total badass but the gameplay must be fairly challenging too.

Is AC Rogue also the same requirement as Unity ?

By the way, i made an Crunchyroll club in the game so if anyone want to join. tell me !

Been playing it for a while now, and honestly I don't think it's too bad. There are a few issues- occasionaly the game will 'lock' for a few seconds- usually when large crowds are appearing- and the parkour is a tad annoying. Framerate isn't too bad since I'm on a fairly powerful PC (GTX770 4GB- bit of a beast ) although it does dip to the sub-30's now and then.
Arno feels... 'heavier' than previous assassins.... I think...? I can appreciate the feeling of weight in his movements, but it does seem to slow him down a bit more than Edward, for example.
Steffiekun- I'd imagine Rogue has lower requirements than Unity. Problably similar to Black Flag, what with it still being a previous gen game. I'll see if I can find your club- I haven't touched coop yet- although I did have a weird experience with an assassin walking up to me saying "we need your help" all of a sudden. I ignored him.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I just had to draw attention to this- http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/12/17/assassin-s-creed-unity-patch-4-requiring-full-40-gb-game-re-download-on-xbox-one.aspx
In short- patch 4 is 6.7G and anyone who downloaded the XBone version is going to have to re-download the ENTIRE GAME. Ubi, you have truly made a big old s**t of this one.

You know a game is really broken when it requires a 6.7 GB patch to work out the kinks. Shame on you, Ubisoft.

Brother got a PS4 and Unity for christmas, it's pretty good imo... The customisation and weapon variety is nice and fighting mechanics are good too...

They did completely botch the release though O_o

Still prefer AC2 and Brotherhood myself

The game is not that great, in my opinion. I have played all Assassin's Creed games that I can get my hands on, but Unity is the weakest of them all. The dead kings DLC is better then the main game. But of course this is just my opinion.

I don't know why you think it's all so bad. It's great then you can customize your characters, play heists with friends and rank up. No need to be picky about story, but I personally thought AC III had the best story. That aside, AC Unity isn't bad at all in my opinion.

I never beat it. The horrible frame rate honestly gave me motion sickness. Though I guess they pretended to optimize it sense way back then. But man I cant believe I paid for that crap. Even on sale it just was not worth it.

This is the first game in the franchise that I've skipped. Apparently, I'm not missing much. I've really enjoyed the overarching plot to the series and I heard that Unity does very little to advance the narrative. I'd actually like more gameplay that takes place in the present with Abstergo and the modern day Assassins. Seeing Asia would be nice too. I know a lot of people want them to do feudal Japan, which would be great. China too!

Seems like a lot of people hate it.

Yea it is true that Unity hardly advance the narrative between the Abstergo vs Modern Day assassin. After Desmond died, i feel like the Abstergo vs Modern Assasin's storyline went downhill. Lucky for me, i play the franchise for the expliot of the assasins that the game figured so I am pretty contend with Arno's story.

I think there are a lot of valid points against Unity, but I think there has been a lot of stigma placed against the franchise as a whole.

Sure, I couldn't go into the Invalides district for a week because the game insta-crashed upon entering it. Or the fact that the Initiates system was a piece of rubbish (my profile only got reset like 4 times before they gave up on it...). Or that SLI was broken, fixed, and then broken again. But, what I remember the most was my enjoyment of running around and essentially getting to do what I wanted to do. And the environments looked gorgeous doing it too. Even against the odds I never once had a single issue with online co-op play.

I have yet to see another game look as pretty as this game that isn't a corridor shooter as well. 5760x1080 (Everything on Ultra and maxed out. FPS=~45 while recording, 54 without recording; the stuttering was not present in the game itself). Playing at my normal 1920x1080 resolution I pretty much never dip below 70FPS and usually stay in the upper 90s. Even on 5760x1080 I was almost always above 60FPS while running around.

Are you missing out on a good story skipping this game? No, not really. But you're missing out on a fun gameplay experience. Now that Rogue is on PC, it's been very tough to get into it because it simply doesn't look as good, nor are the controls as tight as Unity's.
