As a manga reader I have to say.. THAT WAS FANTASTIC! This was a near perfect adaptation. I usually don't watch anime that I read the manga of past the first couple episodes. I mostly just like to see how well its adapted and then I drop it because I already know what's going to happen. But I might end up watching all of this anime. I really enjoyed both the op and ed. Also that beginning scene was one hell of a way to start off the anime.

If I had any gripes there might be two things I didn't necessarily hate just were different than how I interpreted them in the manga. For one his voice wasn't what I expected it to be. I always imagined it more high pitch when i read it in my head. Second is kind of a spoiler for the end of the episode so i won't go into detail but I'll just say that that particular moment seemed a lot more intense in the manga imo.

Overall still very much enjoyed the episode and can't wait to see the rest it.

Oh, heck yes!

That was great. Honestly, I think it could have been even better if it dropped the main character, who I really don't care for based on this episode alone, and the "plot" and just went all out with the ridiculousness. Still, this was funny to the extreme and something I am looking forward to seeing on a weekly basis.

neat, Funi even has a 1080 stream of it. I think that might be their first, most of their other stuff is only SD or 720

That was all I hoped it could be. It definitely met my expectations from reading the manga. If it keeps up like this, it'll be one fun ride.

I didn't notice this before, but Nagisa is a main character that doesn't sit on the edge by the window. XD Sort of fits him.

And I'm not quite sure what was with the mosh pit jump dancing in the intro, but it was sort of hilarious. Also liked the Baccano/Durarara style name cards in the opening. I read the manga and I still don't have most of the characters' names straight.
The ending chalk drawings look like they have some nice easter eggs for manga readers.

The opening alone was perfect. I think it might already be in my top 20 anime openings of all time.

Ugh, so corny man. The teacher, the students...it's just corny.

Hopefully it gets more interesting as it goes on, but i don't know if i can handle the direction it looks to be going.

The more you get to understand the possition E-class has in this school the more the concept behind the series comes across.

E-Class is a deliberate form of Social engineering by the guy who runs the school. They exist to be looked down on and held up as examples of failure to keep the rest of the school on the "right path"

How that fits into the mystery woman from Kuro-sensei's past I don't know

If you can't handle the goofy, it's probably not for you. It uses that lighthearted goofiness to keep the story from getting dragged down by some fairly serious and messed up subject matter. The author will dial something up to 11 so that it's just ridiculously overblown, because otherwise it would just be depressing.

Satire is the word I'm looking for. The satire is strong with this one. It's got social commentary all over the place (mostly about the Japanese school system).

The story's good, but I understand if the goofy throws you off. I can't watch Adventure Time, even though the plot synopsis is interesting, because the humor just completely turns me off it.

I definitely love silly anime, but once it becomes goofy like this in such a "serious" situation is when i get turned off. Also why i hate No Game No Life.

oh yeah you should probably not watch this anime. I don't mean that to be offensive, just, I loved No game no life. I'm not saying these are exactly the same but this series gets pretty ridiculous at times. It can also be fairly dry at times as well, but when it picks up it really picks up. But the comedy doesn't really change that much and theres lots of it. Also this series is fairly episodic. This isn't to say that there is no plot what so ever but at the same time, most of what you need to understand about the plot was pretty much just explained to you in this first episode. Characters grow and personalities change but if I were to put this anime into a category even though its in shonen jump I'd still call it Slice of Life.

Oh wow that was a bigger hit than I expected, definitely a fan of the animation style and design, OP is pretty decent as well....downside atm, characters aren't drawing me in but everything else seems to be so I guess I will just have to give it time, 22 eps after all I think. Setting and Tone is definitely on point, like it, but wishes the Teacher was a bit more sinister, EDIT: Rewatching, yeah He could reach the sinister lvl I want, for a first episode he was pretty intense with the name plates, so I will give him more time, He just needs to instill that fear just a bit more, while still keeping the comedy bit. Nonetheless with the minor issues I have, still a hit.

If I were to fully count the Teacher as a character and less a plot device, then he would be the current character drawing me in.

Good ED as well.

I'm impressed with this anime already and it has very unique elements.
1. The main protagonist isn't some generic high school guy.
2. Certain students have their own way of wearing their school uniform
3. This is one of the few school life anime with a unique plot.
