As a premium or paid subscriber for several years now, this change doesn't much for me at all-- except push the daily deal and forum list, which I do like to quickly glance at, down the page, making them less convenient to look at. It's not a big deal, but it's not an improvement in my eyes. I'd suggest leaving the site the way it was for premium users and/or signed in users (those already with accounts) who might presumably already be somewhat familiar with what Crunchyroll has to offer.

I'd also prefer more sites to have sections which show off lesser-known shows. A lot of the time, especially when you've seen a lot of anime, it's hard to find a new one because all the recommendations and top anime are one's that are super popular that you've probably already seen or heard of. I saw someone ask for good anime to watch recently, and someone asked 'Why not use one of the hundreds of lists out there?'. Well they probably don't since all those lists contain practically the same anime.

From what I see in you guys' screenshots, they are pretty much just the top 5 Anime in CR's popular Anime section. Which usually just shows the Anime with a simulcast that aired today, plus Naruto. (Damn Naruto is usually there.)

That looks pretty horrible. Its not doing that for me at the moment, but I'll be annoyed if it starts to. Definitely should not be on the page for premium users. It just shows us things we are already aware of as well as shunts things that are actually handy to see at a glance half way down the page.

Actually no, ABP doesn't hide that new section. Not everyone sees the changes to the home page because, as lorreen stated, only some percentage of visitors sees it.

I also don't like the changes very much. There are 3 kinds of show promotion going on in the home page now: the carousel, the new "featured shows" section and the old "simulcasts" section. Other interesting content (forums, anime news, site news) is not visible at a fist glance, since they require the user to scroll down the page. Maybe they could expand the carousel a bit, make it more visually appealing with good quality key visuals from the shows, and promote all simulcasts there, perhaps together with a small section below it with the 3 or 4 top popular shows and a link to the whole list (/videos/anime/popular).

I'm not a fan of it for reasons others have already stated. That said, as long as browsing shows and the queue doesn't change I'm not gonna complain (much...).

Makes no sense to have a list of featured shows and then the scrolling list right next to it. I don't even like the scrolling list because the name of the episode and image can paint too much of a picture of what would happen in the episode and I hate it (though there's a strong possibility that that's just me lol).

Also, pushing the Simulcasts for 2014 closer to the top (and the news and forum topics presumably further down) also looks bad. This is assuming that this is also part of the test and I'm not just an idiot. The news stories are probably 95% of the reason I even check the homepage (other 5% probably being the deal of the day, though that comes via email as well).

I'm probably just odd, I do have strange quirks. I struggle to watch Nisekoi because the ties are far too long and it annoys the hell out of me, so I could just have an oddball perspective.
