Exploiting a Program's Weakness. Do You Do It?

I'll be honest, after playing NBA 2K11 and 12 so much, I figured some of the computer's tendencies on shooting and passing. The result, I make a lot of steals, blocks, assists, and 3 point shots. Making new records on steals, blocks, assists, and 3pts even caused the program's stats to go wonky. For example, team's assists goes to 80 per game (which is ridiculous) and 3pt percentage that goes above 100%.

However, when I played NBA 2K14, things where a little different. At first, I couldn't even make a score, let alone win for the team. So, I resorted to what I usually do to win and score against the newly patched program, initiated more fast break and moving side to side for open 3s or catch and fake then shoot.

In Zelda's Majora Mask, I obtained this potion that gave Link infinite energy and saved it onto the final boss. I used the Zora transformation and used the Z targeting. Then, I pressed another button that allowed Link to emit a stunning energy while Z lock and defending. The final boss fight was awkward but I finished the game.

Anyway, do you notice any npc or programming error/limit and use it to your advantage?

Originally, Street Fighter chain combos where a computer programming error.

So yea. What's your story?

Do you guys explore everything? Talk to every NPCs to get clues or side stories? Break every items to see if there's any items?

On Skyrim, I don't use main roads to go up the mountains. I just keep on jumping, one ledges at a time, till I'm at the peak. That's why I skipped some stories or obtained items earlier than the story intended me to have.

Depends on the game, I exploit the games program in those games that are just so frustrating to beat. If it's something moderately average I won't exploit it and will play it as meant to be played.

Any particular games that you exploited?

Mainly just LOS errors.

Easiest example to give is runescape where you can fire through walls/objects that mobs can't. Some of them are intended, but a good deal of them aren't.

^ good example.

Sometimes games have problem with that. Such as Borderlands.

I remember in the beginning that I was already killing enemies thru the spaces in between fences. Enemies couldn't do the same thing because the story was just unfolding.

I only exploite single player games, it seems unfair to me otherwise.
I started exploiting when I realised I could get under the map to progress farther in orcrana of time. I thought I could beat the world record for speed running that game! Little did I know speed runners everywhere knew of that exploite.

On Digimon World you can exploit a money thing, as you can trade items. One item you buy for 1500 (and you can buy as many as you want) and the item you trade for, you can sell for 2000 and you can trade for as many as you want so each time you trade say 99, you're getting 500 profit for each.

Not 100% on the actual money but you make a profit.

If I happen to find an exploit, I try to avoid it. I like being challenged by games, so using exploits would be counterintuitive. This is true especially in multiplayer games, because I don't want to ruin the fun for others.

This is very true, I agree almost 100% with you here.
