Im suprised no one has thought of this yet.....

QUESTION 1:
Do you (or Have you) take part in any illegal activitys....

-drug use or selling
-stealing/robbing
-pimpin/hoeing (of any age group)
-assault for no reason
or anything else....

QUESTION 2:
Do you feel that hip hop might of had an influence on you doing that?.... or not doing it?

Well i used to sell pills for a while, never smoked weed or cigerettes, tho i hang out with lots of smokers of the green leaf...
i do drink alchol even tho im not 21.... all my drankers cups up lol

I thought about robbing some drug heads once on halloween, but i didnt do it... the plan was to put on a costume, get them for they weed, & then sell it to/thru one of my friends, whos gonna call the police & say somebody stole my weed??? hopefully nobody

no pimpin, DEFINATLY no hoeing

i havent been violent in a good minute... no run ins with the laws, im on my peacefull chill out shit

I do think the gangsta-street aspect of rap music does influence me & others to consider such actions, but the MAJORITY of the blame rests upon each individual

well...i have quite a rap sheet...

Drug use deff...now i pretty much just puff, ill prolly always sell not commercially just cuz of the price breaks in larger quantities...pills always easy money its like 300-500% profit, that cali kush is always in demand too.

ive robbed people in the past but it was all sneaky, it was more like fuck i just whoop'd that ass might as well take this foos wallet(usually just get their ID, i wanna know who might creep up on me).

I did a lil minor pimping, it was more like lookin after my cousins hos while he was out of town. (i never slapped a bitch)

Assault is common ive never had to check someone that didnt deserve it.

Although now since im on probation, I try to stay straight...prisons aint no joke round here.

I wouldn't say that hip hop influenced me in illegal activities, but WE all are products of our atmosphere, and my atmosphere was hip hop...so go figure

(I would like to say im not a criminal or anything like that, these are just things we do and its quite the norm...I mean im a graff artist and what not, but i have a job and pay my taxes...im contributing to my community, i just have hobbies that seem to be illegal =/ )

hip hop kinda enticed me to sell drugs, constant glorification of the hustla/dealer..... Money was the driving force, I cant honestly say i NEVER wanted to smoke weed just to "cool" or to fit in, but for some reason (probly all those anti-tobacco ads) i never smoke anything, all that black shit on my lungs is not ballin....

Violence isnt just in rap music, it comes from all angles ....movies TV etc, so if i ever shoot somebody ima blame that stupid bitch for pissing me off that much....

When i was younger i thought being a gangsta & pimp was cool, then i grew up...
Just imagine a lil kid being asked in class what u wanna be when you grow up? its not a fireman or astronought... its a pimp or cocaine boss....

?Question?

would anybody say that the negative aspects of rap kept them from immatating illegal actions?

Well no........not to me.......I'm not going to blame artist and TV for my actions I chose the path I chose and i have to deal with it but it did have me glorifiying the bad and negative aspects of society.....i.e. DRANKING.....but hell thats legal and I enjoy it lol.......I 've always been too scared to sell drugs outright........that shit sounded dangerous even in songs today, about staying up and shit and scared cuz somebody gonna rob you for your shit lol.....That's not appealing! But i was obsessed with pimps I still slightly glorify them even though I know that they are horrible lol!

Trespassing? Guilty.
Vandalism? Guilty.
Simple Assault? Guilty.

Three crimes that everyone has done at some point in their life.

I don't glorify crime nor do I advocate the street life. I'm not a paradigm goody-goody but I don't understand why people choose to embrace such a lifestyle where fear, crime and general insecurity are widespread.

As for the second question, Hip-Hop is a desensitizing musical genre. I'm sure someone listening to DMX and Master P. would be less likely to do crime than someone who listens to, say, Lupe Fiasco. Now that doesn't mean Gangsta rap and violence go hand in hand--because they don't--but it's wholly naive to think that Hip-Hop music doesn't have an effect.

But on the other side, I fervently hate those who peg all the violence solely on Hip-Hop.

But when it really boils down to it, your actions, lawful or unlawful, is just the effect of your decisions which are the direct products of your ability to accurately gauge benefit versus risk. It's not Hip-Hop music is that is the cause of the broad imitation and glorification of the thug/ghetto lifestyle but rather the lack of awareness to adequately realize what the hell they are doing/believing.

the HIP HOP POLICE are basically police the police that target & profile rappers. Its believed that these cops also are behind the conspiricy of the biggie & pac cases not ever being resolved. Hip hop snitches apparently work with the hip hop police... & which is probly why T.I. is in jail now
