My first fansubbing job was for a group called Kyou Nir.

We did Asura Cryin, and then Spice and Wolf season 2.

my first sub was Mayo Chiki, I use to hate watching subs but over time I got use to it, now I tend to only watch subs unless I like the english voice actors (Monica Rial is my favorite)

The original Naruto made me start watching subbed. I can't stand watching dubbed anime (with a few exceptions, of course!)

Naruto Shippuden (episode 40-ish)

I was tired of waiting for the dubs to get released.

my first subbed anime was Soul eater. I grew up watching dubs, but i prefer subtitles. I'm not really one of those "sub only" people, But in general for most animes i prefer the original subtitles; i find the voices to fit the characters better.

I honestly can't remember... Even looking at my list, its hard to tell when exactly I started watching subs. From what I have listed and what I remember, its either Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei, Skip Beat!, or Maria Holic.

I never finished Zetsubou-sensei (so i don't have it logged) but that's the first sub I personally remember watching. Skip Beat is the first I remember completeing all the way through, but for some reason, Maria Holic is listed first. I'm not sure if that's a mistake in my list or if that's how it really happened. It might make sense if I found hulu before Crunchyroll, but it doesn't seem right to me.

-EDIT-

I figured it out. It was actually none of those - it was season 2 of Hell Girl.

I watched the first season and couldn't find the second dubbed, so I watched it subbed. Realizing that I was capable of watching subbed anime, I then went on to try other things (including those 3 I mentioned). I confused myself because its listed quite early, but I remember it dubbed rather than subbed and I passed it up while looking at my list.

It was either one of two shows. Can't entirely remember. Either Naruto when I first got into the show in early 2006. Or Fullmetal Alchemist when it was having it's first run on Adult Swim/Toonami (whatever it was called at the time). I got too impatient when FMA got to around episode 40-42 and found them subtitled online to finish the show.

I believe that the first sub was Ghost In The Shell special edition. It came out in 1996 and I never heard Japanese before. I liked it a lot.
