My first official sub was Naruto Shippuden iirc.

Waaaay back in 2007 when I was 7 or 8..

I wanted to watch some Naruto after being hyped on Toonami.

Since my parents bought my brother and I our first computer, we looked the next episode up because we couldn't wait for the dub and found pictures of Naruto post time skip.

We watched the first episode in Japanese and I remember laughing because Naruto sounded like a 10 year old girl compared to the Dub.

At the time I didn't know they were both voiced by females.
-------

Although I think one of my cousins owned the original Saint Seiya in Spanish and Japanese. I have little recollection of the voices but I was sure they sounded foreign. I was like 4-5 so I only have bits and pieces of my memory left.

I'm actually surprised people can actually remember this kind of stuff. I usually try and think of the oldest memory of me watching subs even though I know very well that its not my first.

Well I watched sub getting into anime (not counting crap I watched as a kid before realizing it was anime). So... that would be Baka to Test.

It's easier for someone like me who only really got into anime in the last 2 years.

The first ever sub for me was My Neighbor Totoro. The first actual anime series was Lucky*Star, which is also one of the first ones I started with, though I did watch a few of the RAWs before.
I'm more of a sub person, anyway...

The first one I watched that wasn't on a VHS tape from Blockbuster when I was a little kid, so Chrno Crusade.

... Along with every other anime I've seen since. To me English dubs are like a retarded pet that craps diarrhea all over your house, I get that some people out there still love them anyway but I can't begin to understand how or why.

(No offense intended to those actually working their asses of in the dubbing industry, and best of luck to them and their careers; especially when it comes to successfully getting out of anime dubbing and into triple-A video games.)

No reason to exclude VHS rentals. The first subbed anime I watched was either a DBZ movie from blockbuster that was only available subbed, or one of the Evangelion VHS that was only available in subbed at the local store. Either that or one where the tapes inside were swapped.

I think it was Sword Art Online. Funny how one of my least favorite anime got me into officially watching "Sub-Only". I think the only reason I watched other anime at that point in time, was for the sole purpose of knowing if anything better existed, that's how bad SAO was.

I'm not exactly sure what my first show I watched subbed was since it was back when I was only 14 years old. It's between Evangelion, Fushigi Yuugi, and Slayers. I know that Fushigi Yuugi is the first show I completed watching it subbed all the way through, but first episode, that's very hazy.

That one was Elfen Lied. Wow what a way to watch my first sub with such a crazy anime on top of it.
