Since one/two weeks I thought my PC was dying because the videos began lagging. Just yesterday I noticed that the videos play in 480p instead of SD even though I selected SD as Default Video Quality in the preferences. I didn't think of the resolution at all precisely because I knew I had set SD as default.

Please look into this problem. It's annoying to change the resolution for every video (or forgetting to do it). Also, I extensively dedusted my whole PC and measured the temperatures for days and rearranged my PC's cooling several times since it was hot where I live. I also looked into a whole lot of software solutions. I don't want that to happen to other people. You feel so stupid if you notice that it's just the resolution, and it's not good to stress your hardware unnecessarily.

Sometimes that setting gets a lil wonky.

Go into your settings and change it to something OTHER than SD.

Then change it back!

That should fix it!

I tried that at least two times without luck. But now it seems to work. Thank you!

Wow. I've been having this issue for years. All I had to do was to "re-set" SD. Thanks Bjaker.
