Title is pretty much self explanatory... Post anything about your city / town of residence that stands out to you.

I live in Modesto, CA, home to the nation's highest car theft rate. There's really not much to do out here, despite there being some 250k people living in the city. It's mostly full of people who got tired of the cost of living in the Bay Area and went a little further eastward to the central valley where it's cheaper. Oh, and did I mention the meth? There's tons of meth (and tweakers) out here, but I guess that's any semi-rural community for you.

Anyways, talk about where you live.

I live in Oklahoma City, OK

only thing here are cowboys and pseudo-amish people.

We do have the Thunder here.

Some days its about 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit and a couple nights later it will be 25-30 degrees Fahrenheit.

the state itself has almost no natural lakes but we have more shoreline than the entire eastern coast. thanks to an abundance of man made lakes.

we are a true red state. so having machine guns will probably come before marijuana gets medicinally legalized

and a bunch of other boring stuff

I live in State College, PA. Huge wonderful trees everywhere, I love them. Walking through campus makes me feel like I am hiking in a forest.

Other than that...

Disgusting, almost monospecific lawns that make me sick (If you are not a scientist and specifically a biologist/entomologist you probably cannot understand how repugnant they are).

The houses look like they were built by the mob, trying to save money using cheap materials and building everything with as little care as possible.

Freezing cold winters (this year we reached - 26 degrees Celsius), and hot, humid summers. Roaming the woods is scary as hell, not because of bears or mountain lions, but because of loads of Lyme-disease-carrying ticks.

I transferred here from Italy about six months ago... Since then I stopped criticising my country so much. I miss you Europe... I love you!

I remember a lot of things... Like having nap times, teacher calming me down to sleep, winning a pear eating contest, and meeting a cute boy at the library, learning French, falling off a bike....

You don't remember anything?

Living in Edmonton isn't that great, We're home to one of the worst hockey teams in the NHL, (one that we're spending waaaaaaayy too much money on building a new arena for), Our roads are terrible, the people are rude, the cops do jack squat about anything, and half the city is covered in construction zones that have no people working in it, causing traffic headaches for all. The only decent thing that we have is WEM, but you see that once you've seen it a million times, we do have an anime convention to go to, but from what I hear, its been really bad as of late, most people I know go to Calgary for Otafest lol.

I actually love the cold! What angers me is that at those temperatures snow is absolutely pointless, you cannot make a snowball or a statue out of it ._. It is depressing.

I'm jealous... because i knew how to read, write, add and subtract i only got to go half days in kindergarten.
I never got to have a nap time, be in any contests, or socialize much when i went, because i only stayed until noonish.

i do remember Q and U getting married and having some cake.

I hail from Lexington, Kentucky. For those of You who are familiar with Horse racing, I live on the Farm where the great Secretariat was buried. We're known as the "Bluegrass State". Most often, while there is rarely a lot of Snow, We have terribly bitter cold Winters and during the Summers, it's the exact same extreme as Winter. A lot of People think that in places like Arizona, Texas or New Mexico that when it gets to be 110° Fahrenheit, that that's, "I'M MELTING!" type Weather. But out West, those areas are full of "Dry heat". Up this way in Kentucky, take the last 2 Weeks or so, its been anywhere from 90° F - 98° F. But the KICKER, is that the HUMIDITY is nearly 100%. I've been to Texas during the Summer, and it was over 100° F, on several Days BUT, with a reciprocal Humidity of around 80%. That felt better than Kentucky with a relative temperature of 85° F, to 90° F...But, I digest.

Of course, We're known for Our Horse racing and rearing credentials. Also, my Alma mater, the University of Kentucky's Men's Basketball Team, and You CAN'T forget, Bourbon whiskey! I actually live in "Bourbon County", and it is definitely a part of Our culture. Our Motto is - "Horses, History, and Hospitality." I must say, that it suits Us nicely. It's such a special little place. At the End of the Day, I couldn't ever see Myself living anywhere else. The House and the acres of Farm that I have, were Willed to Me by My Grandmother on My Mother's side. On the list of States and areas with the Costs regarding most expensive plots of Land, Kentucky was among the top 3. The People here are Friendly, and genuine with One another. Kinda like a spot where People can leave their Doors unlocked, with no worry...even though I DO, muahah.

Ahhh, well. I've spoke enough. In conclusion, I love My State. <3
