What's the most unfitting, inappropriate or mismatching opening you have seen?

I recently started watching Watamote and had a big wtf moment when that opening came o.O
(It might fit in it's own way though), but still

I actually thought the Watamote opening was quite fitting. I may just be a bit biased because I like the song though.

Probably School Days... I think the ED's were a better fit.

The Berserk opening is a pretty odd match for the show. It's upbeat and some of the lyrics include " So put your glasses on, nothing will be wrong." it makes little sense for what you're watching. XD

I agree. But the opening for Berserk's movie is so amazing compared to the original anime series.

The opening for Akame ga Kill doesn't fit imo. The singing in it is too upbeat for that anime. If it was all instrumental it would fit.
The OP for such an anime should've been much more dark and badass.
The ed should be something dark too, like something like the Higurashi themes.

I think the OP for AgK fits it fine.

We may actually have to see the actual animation and the full song that goes with it before completely judging it.

As for an OP that I felt didn't fit probably the first OP to Mushibugyou.

Mushi-shi second opening. It sounds like generic girl pop.

i'm very surprised to hear that i have only heard it called "beautiful" and "fitting for the show". It's just a few guitar chords and one girl singing, so idk how it would be viewed as "pop". well to each their own i reckon.

What is the opening? Has it been played in the trailers and PVs?

Anyway Brynhildr in the Darkness second opening easily SUCKS. Maybe for like Nobunagun or something but not that

Yes.
Gets played in here a bit.

I like that OP for Brynhildr.
And I think Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas would've made a much more fitting song for Akame ga Kill than whoever it's that did the one it got.

I felt TTGL's 1st intro was a bit of a letdown. For a show that's supposed to be epic, the OP just sounded like most other generic J-Pop theme songs.

The new metal theme to Brynhildr in the Darkness was a bit jarring and pretty bad compared to the previous opening, which I thought was superb.

As others have said before, Brynhildr in the Darkness. The first opening was okay, but the second one doesn't suit it at all.

Mobile Suit Victory Gundam's first opening, no contest here.

The opening makes it seem like the show's gonna be a kiddy and upbeat mecha anime. After all, it features a cast of kids as the main characters, right? Hahahaha....

I still think both of the OP songs for Code Geass R2 are too happy-go-lucky for the tone of the show, which is supposed to be dark with tragic events which I can't tell due to spoilers. I feel as though those songs belong to some high school drama anime, not one about mecha war and people dying explosive deaths.
