If the sales aren't good in Japan, doubt we will ever get it here.

What i'm more interested in is The World God Only Knows. It does so good in Japan yet nobody has licensed it yet.

Hopefully the stamp of being from the creator of Elfin Lied will bring in more orders. Since some anime tank sales-wise in Japan yet do much better in the West, maybe this could be a similar case.

It does alot better than most.

I don't see Yen Press or Kodansha picking it up since they don't prefer longer series(Soul Eater, Fairy Tail being some of their longer titles).

Maybe Viz or Seven Seas one day.

Being the 15th best selling selling manga in Japan is still pretty good though I'd say.

Comparison invalid. Space Brothers gained a boost due to the anime, which always pads certain series that first year of the anime. Bleach was many years into its run, including the anime. An established series that used to be ranked as high as three dropping about 1 million sales every year for about three or four years in a row means something went wrong (the drops started around Fake Karakura Town.)

Also, while 15 is still pretty good, it wasn't good enough for the manga to elevate itself and is now ending, or for the anime to not be outright canceled like it did.

It is fascinating to see Bleach go from #5 in 2010, all the way down to #15 in 2013. It is quite jarring really how much a series can shift so quickly. Of course, it is to be expected for Bleach, with all the blunders in story that are pretty hard to defend.

Wasn't really trying to compare a one-year wonder to an always top selling manga, don't worry. Just thought you might also find that fascinating.

With the way people like complaining about it on internet forums, I thought the Bleach wouldn't even be in the top 100 best sellers. I was surprised to see it's still in the top 15. They've been saying it's ending for more than 2 years now, glad to see it's still selling great.

Ah. Misunderstanding on my part. XD

However, it isn't nearly as fascinating mostly because it is easily explainable and makes sense. Bleach's fall from grace is a whole other scenario. The longevity of the series, the length of the series, as well as the established fan-base make the sales numbers infinitely more interesting when they steadily drop off like Bleach did.

Top 100? If it was THAT low, the manga would have been canceled AGES ago. XD

Nah, it is too well established for that, but it dropped off from what would be called "The Big 3" of Jump. Too many series in Jump at this point stomp it into the ground at this point. It just did not have the lasting appeal of either One Piece (which is its own thing in general) or Naruto.

Oh, I just saw this. I'll add your forum to my forum, lol. Just because I'm sure people will be curious about this too since most anime are just promotions for their manga/LN. I have actually gotten a couple questions about LN before, so this will be helpful to redirect people.

I might actually steal your ideal of having a 'best selling' archive, but that may take a while to create. i think i'll be getting on it tonight.

Anyway, all I've cared about recently from manga/LN sales is how well the Haikyuu!! manga has been doing. It saw an excellent boost and even ranked for I think about ten weeks straight.

Currently airing anime Tokyo Ghoul, continues to see it's latest manga volume sell well.

Following it's recent anime adaptation announecement, the action manga Gangsta.'s 6th volume makes the top 25.

Personally happy to see: Blue Exorcist, Kuroko's Basketball, Assassination Classroom, Food Wars, Gintama, Saiki Kusuo no Sainan.

In a league of it's own: One Piece doing it's thang as usual...

Several Kodansha and Shogakukan title released this week. Nice to see Fairy Tail, Magi and Conan have a very good first week. I'm mostly surprised by by Yamada kun low numbers. I've heard a lot about that manga so I thought it would be one of Kodansha's bigger sellers.

Latest Kuroko's Basketball and Assassination Classroom volumes pass the 500 000 mark.
