I will still get it, but honestly, I'm not that hyped about it as I was with Brawl before it came out on the Wii. I feel the reason is because of how the game's jump onto the Wii U doesn't feel like a gigantic transition for the series. SSB's transition from the N64 to the Gamecube as Melee was gigantic, and the game's transition to the Wii as Brawl was just as stellar, but to me, the new Smash feels like Brawl with a graphical overhaul (I don't really like the art direction -- I'll explain later) with tweaked gameplay and newcomers rather than a successor. What do you guys think? Am I the only one who feels this way?

Regarding the art design, I like how it's all 1080p and possibly 60fps. It's clean and modern, which I like, but lacks that grit and toughness that the previous three games had. The current design is too cutesy and colorful for me. I can understand why people like it, but it's really not my taste.

I want it. I plan on getting it, on both Wii U and 3DS. I will play it and definitely enjoy it, because I know what I'm getting. But yeah, I'm not that excited for it, specifically because I already know what I'm getting. I've gotten it plenty already. It's more of the same and, while I enjoy more of the same, it's hard to get that pumped up for something that I know exactly what to expect from.

I'm more excited about the new IPs or new ideas used in older IPs that I've seen come out of trade shows or websites lately.

Ya, right now I would say I'm not that excited. It's kind of like with Mario Kart 8, I knew I would get it and enjoy it, but I wasn't really excited. I'm going to get Smash for Wii U, and I know I will enjoy it, but I am far more excited for things like Hyrule Warriors and Xenoblade X. Those are games that I haven't experienced before, and they seem like they will have some story to enjoy.

You always know what you get with a Smash Bros game, but it's still awesome & fun. The idea of getting into an epic battle between Megaman, Pacman, Sonic, & Mario gets me excited to play the game. It's like a new Pokemon game, you know what to expect - but still can get really excited about the idea of the game, the new features, etc. New features, new fighters - I'm excited for the new Smash Bros & plan to play it on the Wii U.

Honestly I knew they were going to make another one but it still makes me mad that they said on the box of Brawl that "Its the Brawl to end them all!"

One more thing, I'm NOT digging that title. "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/ 3DS". Jesus, they could have at least tried to be creative with the name, unless I'm mistaken and it's only a placeholder. What is one supposed to call it in short instead of saying the entire title? The "New Smash"? That won't have much longevity to it. Brawl could be called just called Brawl, and Melee just Melee, so what should we call it?

Psssh I'M excited for it. I see where you're coming from, but SSB and Brawl hasn't disappointed me so I'm not about to be disappointed out of things I'm not familiar with yet.

Oh well, I guess there's always still Zero Suit Samus to look forward to.

I'm hype for Smash but more for it being a party game with friends. I've never been good at it so I don't care for playing online, etc.

Well, I don't own a Wii U, but I am planning on getting the 3DS version of Smash at some point or another. I don't think I've ever actually played a Smash game before and I'm interested to try the new one. I am not really that excited though, but that's probably because I'm new to the series. I like the art style, but I am not yet convinced by the 3DS version. I do agree that the title is dumb, if it ends up being the real deal.

^ As a side note, why did Samus put huge water balloons inside her zero suit? Doesn't she realize how easily they'll break in combat?

Many are simply calling them SSBU and SSB3D, while others are referring to them as Smash 4 and Smash 5. Another common tag I've heard is simply Smash U and Smash 3D.

My wife and I are both getting the 3DS version. She has never experienced SSB before, but she has had so much fun playing Playstation All-Stars on her Vita that it did not take a lot of convincing to get her interested in the original all-star brawler.
