As much as I love masks, in public I'd find it a tad unnerving. I'd find it a bit shady as to why someone wants to remain so anonymous in a public place. I don't mind you doing it, though, Phersu.

Because I'd kill/eat/steal your face if you did mind?

Something like that.

Well I like to wear masks, especially in winter because I get really cold and mucus starts dripping down my nose.. It'd be weird walking like that ya' know. So I think It's perfectly normal, but just don't go up to a stranger with your mask still on.. Especially, ski masks.

It's a little uncomfortable seeing someone wear a mask in public. it makes it seem like you're planning to do something crazy.

We all wear masks in this society, faces we put up in order to hide out true selves. The only way to unveil these masks is to try to understand who someone is, understand their true essence, and for them to open up to you as well. Who know what you will find when you take off someone's mask. Who knows what you will find when you take your own mask off.

And you never know who may be wearing the mask of Zero.

But in the literal sense, I'd really only wear a mask during an Anime convention or on Halloween; in either case I'd be cosplaying.

Unless you are that 'V" lady from Dr. Phil, I suggest not wearing a mask unless it's Halloween.

I would almost every day if I had one of these.

I'm sure I can easily design one in blender that is more accurate to the game, I just need to invest in a 3D printer!

OK so my first thought seeing the title was the medical masks that are often popular/widely used from what I have noticed in Japan.

Which if that was the case, I am surprised more people don't wear them in the states... guess it is because you would only get weird looks from people here in the states.

But it seems people are talking more like if you wore masks usually meant for Halloween costumes, or ski masks, and the stuff like that.

In that case I agree with the others saying it would be a bit sketchy and odd.

I don't see anything wrong with a half mask, just to cover your mouth and nose. personally I hate passing by smokers and having to smell smoke so I tend to wrap something around my neck and cover my nose and mouth. I even do this in the summer time, it also helps to reduce dust and other things that I might breath in.

Well, I think wearing masks would add a very interesting dynamic to social interactions. They provide a degree of anonymity, which I think would allow me to converse more openly. Plus they cause one to focus less on appearances and more on one's personality. However, even if you do focus on appearances, since a mask as an interchangeable object you can basically make a statement through your appearance that you couldn't normally make with the face you were born with (sort of like the type of clothes you wear).

I think I support the idea of wearing masks in public - but i'm thinking more along the lines of the types of masks worn at the Carnival of Venice like a Bauta, Columbia, or a decorated Volto. Not exactly like those, but masks which serve a similar purpose. I've also heard that historically these masks were worn for months at a time, not just during the festival, and were commonly used to provide anonymity during certain social function. So there's historical precedent!

I support it. So long as they are Guy Fawkes masks, and so long as they are dancing.

So what do you think of wearing masks in public? Bad? Good? Only on Halloween?

I support it, personally. For....non-personal reasons of course.

You steal people's faces on a daily basis and called them masks. I don't see the problem here.
Of course at work if you are wearing a mask I'd have to put the cuffs on you and introduce you to some "nice people" "wink, wink nudge, nudge".

Crunchyroll sells some mask that cover half the face, are we talking about these mask? (cuz I'd wear these)

Or like full face protective mask?

Or Ski-mask for the criminally inclined

The rules in Cali are

CALIFORNIA Penal Code Section 182-185

185. Section One Hundred and Eighty-five. It shall be unlawful for any person to wear any mask, false whiskers, or any personal disguise (whether complete or partial) for the purpose of: One--Evading or escaping discovery, recognition, or identification in the commission of any public offense. Two--Concealment, flight, or escape, when charged with, arrested for, or convicted of, any public offense. Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.

So it's totally fine so long as you don't commit any crimes.

purdy much, it's like the cherry on top of the crime.

I wouldn't do it myself but I guess I can't say much against it. Suppose it would make attacks etc more likely
