Have you played/watch the original Persona 4? This one plays out 3 years after the original Persona 4.

From my understanding on the P4GA site they're simply stating that the original P4A came out three years ago not that the story takes place three years later, if that was the case it would almost have to be a P4U anime (not 100% on when P4U takes place, never played it) I may be wrong though.

I'm hoping it's available for Latin America, but I won't watch until I finish playing the game; I'm so close to the end.

Not really at all. As a person who has played the game Persona 4 Golden, all Golden will be is additional events (like a beach event) and new character Marie added to the original Persona 4. It's the better, expanded version of Persona 4. The 3 years later mentioned in the trailer is that it has been 3 years since 2011 in the real world, when the first Persona 4 anime came out.

That's wrong, Persona 4 golden the animation is a sequel to Persona 4 Golden on VITA

EDIT* You can clearly see that you returns on that train.

*Yuu or Yu, and no, that scene is almost exactly the same scene as when Yuu meets Marie on original Golden. But we'll see in less than 2 weeks if you think I'm wrong. And where did they say that the animation was a sequel to the Golden game? Because if they plan to use Marie as a character three years later her entire social link is rendered null, as she plays a very key role in the main story that wouldn't allow her to be there 3 years later if Yuu hadn't met her, and finished a certain event before during the main story of P4. <(Me trying VERY hard to avoid spoilers)

I don't care if you spoil, I already know how it ends whit the train.

Anyways, I think they said in the original Japanese trailer that the new anime plays out 3 years after the games/original series.

1. I can read easy Japanese like that in the trailer, the Japanese: ”TV シリーズ ’ペルソナ4’ より3年ー” English: "3 years after the Persona 4 TV Series". If they wanted to indicate a sequel they would have said "3 years after the events of Persona 4", but by saying 'after the TV Series' it's indicating real world time, Persona 4 the anime aired in 2011 till 2012. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=12870) The year is 2014, so a difference of 3 years.

2. Also other trailers comment, like the Yukiko/Chie one, like they have yet to meet the protag, according to the translation by ANN:

"Chie: Hey hey, they say that a transfer student is coming soon!
Yukiko: I wonder what kind of person it is...
Text: Finally, they're coming back!
Chie: I want a person who loves meat, and is able to stand bravely on a mountain of meat and oil and meat!
Yukiko: That's not even a person anymore, that's just meat.
Chie: Ooh, that's Golden."

3. The following is a spoiler for the Golden that proves Yuu could not have met Marie three years after the original story, don't look at it if you don't want to be spoiled (it's really spoils the end, avoid if you don't know the end of the Golden.

Thanks for the info! However, there is already a thread for Persona: Golden the animation, and this would be a perfect addition to it. Therefore I'm closing this thread, but ask that you share the news in that existing thread instead.
