Dude, please calm down. I think I am fat myself just to let you know. No, I never have been discriminated because of my girth (my sister has made fun of me, but I say she just has problems), and no I do not discriminate against fat people. To answer your "real question," I don't really think people hate fat people. I know people much heavier than that and they are really good people. What they might really hate, are people actually portraying the stereotypes.

I don't have any problems. If anything it's because they're in league with Oprah. I'll list some potential reasons though.

Jealous:
Many obese kids didn't have to run at my school.
You can survive global cooling.
You will get robotic exo skeletons (the elderly will too) before the rest of us.
Leia in golden bikini.
Women gravitate to you.
Sexy husky Berry White voices (or 13 year old girl for phone calls, w/e).

My sister found a book on being fat actually. I think it started out as
"Have you ever been called names? Have you been ever called lardo, wide load, piggie, Hippy the hippo, fatso, chubby, big boy, .." Well, you get the idea. What an inspirational book yes?

I was overweight in my early grade school (1st and 2nd grade).. but NO, no one discriminated me, no one dared. I went through fixing myself properly cos i feel insecure to the 'pretty' girls in school. I got back to shape sooner than expected. And people will just told me, 'those were just baby fats', jeez. So, there's no reason to think as if they were same as me... i don't have to cos they will NEVER thought of it.

I don't really have anything against obese people and i don't pity them. They've decided it for themselves. They got pleasures in every actions (like eating) on what they did, doing and still/will do. It's a choice --- they're just practicing their right to liberty.

But obese SHOULD NOT be pissed or whatsoever to stuffs that 'some' people do to them. We can't please everyone... and the 'bully' exist. So, it's up to the person.. to change or not. It depends on the person's kind of lifestyle somehow.

besides teasing doesn't really go away it just takes a different form as you grow older... i mean I'm almost 23 now and still i get a few jokes about my weight...

I agree. In fact, I've been trying to work out everyday. I made myself a vow that I would work out everyday, and when I come back to school, everyone will be surprised.

ok... there's nothing wrong with obese people... hell my father is quite obese.
But, when you're in the "what attracts you" threads (one of the zillion) then generally people aren't going to say, hey I want a guy who could squash me!

I myself am not attracted to obesity... I like tall skinny guys.. (think starving artist)
But my friend likes bigger guys. I don't know.. it's all in personal preferences.

I don't find anything wrong with obese people. You're right Jay.. it's what's on the inside... but when it comes initially to physical attraction, (here's where i'm bluntly honest) obese guys just don't do it for me.
Not that i have never dated an obese guy. I have. He was sweet and charming, and very intelligent... He just had too many issues for me to deal with. (looooong story)

I think maybe you're taking it too seriously jay...
Maybe because you want to be skinny but you have an attitude to maintain. Who knows?
You're only 14, you've got time.. i will say that it's hard on your heart. and your hips (my father just had his hip replaced, due to obesity)
You should start making lifestyle changes to increase your health... you may not have health problems now, but in the future it could cause you loads of trouble.
Type 2 diabetes for example.
Heart diesease (sp)
I used to be an EMT, and i've had to lift people who weighed more than 400lbs. They couldn't move. They couldn't shower, they couldn't live a normal life.
Something to think about.

why are u so maaad?? :(

im not fat and i have been discriminated against my whole life since elementary. and i dont think a persons physical appearance is what defines them, but we all have to face a society where looks count a whole lot more than they should, whether or not you care. and i dont think people actually have anything against obesity, i think theyre just reflecting disapproval for something which is considered unhealthy and unpopular, especially in teens.

:( why do you even pay attention to what an asshole says?? if you're so confident in yourself as who you are and all then why bother caring for what shallow people say?? *btw im asking this in a confused way, not trying to be arrogant or w/e*

Trust me, you may not hate but there are others who hate our guts...but Im letting it be a prob...Got a phrase from Queen Latifa the other day in a movie.."Fat people don't have a problem. It's the skinny people who have a problem with fat."
That movie kinda boosted my self esteem..I was feeling a bit depressed because I was staying with this lady and her fam for 2 months (husband and wife knew me since I was a baby) and they keep making me feel so bad. In more ways than one.
I try everything I can afford to try. I even play netball, walk and jog at nights. Crap man!! cant they get off my back?

Right now I dont give a rats ass who doesnt like me...I still love you...I was born fat **my mom says so** both sides of my family are fat **Im not trying to find an escuse >_>** and if I keep getting emotional each time someone makes me feel bad, I'll never learn to love my self. >_>

:phew: Thanx for the thread...it felt good to vent ^_^

Those who hate are just jealous.

We know that, we all read, lolled and gapsed on the Fat People thread.

It sucks, I was teased in elementary school, but in the end everything is as it guys who should. I have guys who used to tease me all the time approach me since puberty has hit. For me I've noticed that as time goes on it becomes less and less of an issue, unless it is really affecting your health. As I get older, I realize that pudge is better for snuggling anyway.

i think most people cap on fat people just because it's more socially acceptable to do so.
it's funny though as most fat people can knock the shit out of most people.
but back to me am I fat? Sure why not. Do I care what other people say, not really.
I myself have lost about 25 lbs this year, but I do this because I do it for myself and
my health... I couldn't give 2 shits about what people think..
