Mine would have to be Escha & Logy
Being a guy myself I liked having the ability to play as a male character from the beginning which toi my knowlege has never happened in atlier games untilthat one. The combat is satisifying if a bit unfair at times and Logy's coversations with Escha are entertaning to lsten to, really

All three Atelier Iris games featured male main characters, so Atelier Escha & Logy definitely isn't the first.

Anyways, I think my favorite may be Atelier Meruru, because so far I think it had the best characters and gameplay.

You sure? Cause with stuff like Rorona and Totori you didn't get to choose who you played as. I liked that I got to play as Logy. Like I said that was the first one I've played. Yeah they do have male character but I don't think any were prtagonists

Yeah; the Atelier Iris trilogy featured male main characters. For Atelier Iris, it's Klein Kiesling. Atelier Iris 2 had Felt Blanchimont, and Atelier Iris 3 featured Edge Vanhite.

For me, as of now is Atelier Ayesha.

That, however, is bound to change when I get around to playing Atelier Escha and Logy.

Yeah Escha and Logy is great. I haven't beaten it yet but JYB voiced Awin and that's why is always in my first line. That and Escha and Logy have great screen chemistry

What's a good starting point for this series? I've always admired the art but never actually played any of the games.

Should it be played in order or is starting from Meruru alright? That's the one I'm most interested in.

I've played and beaten Meruru Plus a couple times. Started Totori Plus. Rorona Plus just came out recently, so I gotta go get that. Meruru has been my favorite to play thus far.

It's too bad no one picked up the Atelier Escha and Logy anime, that was really good.

Starting from Meruru is fine, it is the last in the Arland trilogy however, so you'll miss some in jokes and some references but that's about it.

The first Mana Khemia was brilliant. The ending was lame, but the characters were fantastic. If you are of the opinion that the Mana Khemia games don't count, then Atelier Iris 2. The overall plot arc was far above average for the series, and switching back and forth between characters/worlds was a cool mechanic.

Hmmm, I'd have to pick Atelier Iris 1, it was the first one I played and so far it easily has the best music of the bunch. Out of the three Atelier Iris games it definitely had the alchemy I liked the most, spending countless hours trying to max as much as humanly possible.

But then again, the only Atelier game I've disliked so far, or GUST in general, is Atelier Annie but I've been thinking I should give it another chance one of these days.

Oh yes, I totally agree with you. Even now, I still listen to Atelier Iris music just because of how awesome they are.

My pick is Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny. Because it has Noin.

And I agree: Where is the love for Atelier Annie?
