I'm trying to make sense of this. The fact is no one is going to be able to watch it, what is the user base of non english speaking europeans? I'm sure its very very small compared North America and the english speakers of europe.

One here.

I don't know about the user base, but potentially there are over half a billion non-English Europeans and 70 million English Europeans. And I know a lot of Germans using CR.

Exclusive rights are a bit annoying, but it's nice to see Crunchy serving the regions that everyone else passed on.

I think Bakumatsu Rock will be the next announcement.

Either that or Rail Wars.

Interesting. I wonder if someone else has it cornered for NA? I hope so, since I've been wanting to see it.

Potentially half a billion you say, how many of those have electricity or internet. I can assure you that most of the money CR gets is from NA and english europe.

Why waste money licensing this when 90% of your user base can't even watch it.

I very much doubt CR is going to spend money on something they don't think will generate at least an equal return.

They've done a few licenses like this now (several last season, one in the winter season), so they should have a better idea of what kind of traffic they can expect it to generate than you or I.

Europeans? Pretty much all of them.

And the idea that Africans and Middle Easterners don't have modern technology is just ... sometimes I hate America.

Not overly sure if I would watch this anyway. It may come to Animax UK. Will wait and see three so far unavailable in the UK. Sailor moon, is probably the only one, that I am pissed about sofar though.

And I can assure you that most of the shows CR gets are available in NA and English Europe.

I don't see why people are so upset that this is only available to countries other than their own. It's not like CR are refusing to license it in the UK/US, it's just that they can't. Saying that they shouldn't license it at all is just cruel, considering this is likely the only place those people can watch it, whereas you can watch it from whoever owns the license to it. I'm just happy that CR care about spreading anime enough to risk losing money on a small-audience anime.
