At least the audience from these territories can watch it I'm happy for them,

And I hope people from NA will stop being so self-entitled.

It seems that Funimation did it again , or that's what it seems. I really can't understand why they get the rights for the whole American continent when they only offer their service in USA and Canada, so in Latinamerica we simply aren't able to watch it in a legal way

I'm trying to make sense of this. The fact is no one is going to be able to watch it, what is the user base of non english speaking europeans? I'm sure its very very small compared North America and the english speakers of europe.

One here.

I don't know about the user base, but potentially there are over half a billion non-English Europeans and 70 million English Europeans. And I know a lot of Germans using CR.

Potentially half a billion you say, how many of those have electricity or internet.

Why waste money licensing this when 90% of your user base can't even watch it.

The more people who can watch something the better. Every extra area given access to a series which they otherwise would not have is a step in the right direction, and any such step is not a waste.

Dude, you do realize that 'Mercia doesn't have 90% of the worlds population, right? There are anime fans EVERYWHERE!, and they matter just as much as us in North America and "English-speaking Europe"

The next HALF announcement, as "Dandelionswish" skipped the regions, so it could be available to Mongolia and the Republics of the former Yugoslavia for all we know.

A royalty based business doesn't work on who doesn't watch, it works on who watches. A streaming company working to build Iberian, French and German sites in Europe, that gets a lot of their streams blocked out out in those countries, would be a total idiot if they didn't take simulcasts that are offered to them for those countries.

Its not like they are making offers based on a pile of dragon gold that they won, one fine day, by killing the dragon guarding it ... they make offers based on what they expect the content to draw in terms of viewers. Given Crunchyroll's track record, If the licensor takes an offer, its probably a good business deal for Crunchyroll.

Most of them, and likely a higher grade of education as well if you are ignorant of that fact.

This announcement is a total letdown. I want to see news for Akame not the shows they announced.

My impression is that if offered North America alone, that's what they prefer to take, but some international licensors seem to bundle together Blu-Ray region A ex-Japan together with English Speaking Region B.

And Funimation likely doesn't pick up Spanish and Portuguese language rights. Maybe Funimation COULD do a package deal where Crunchyroll sublicenses the Latin America & Caribbean rights for any series whenever Crunchyroll obtains Spain/Portugal for the series. Then there'd be no material delivery requirement on Funimation, so free money.

I'm not saying it's a letdown, per se, but certainly that's the announcement I keep checking Crunchyroll hoping for.
