i do this.. without the getting fat part. Genetics & high metabolism.

however, being underweight is just as much as a problem as obesity.

I have never paid attention to what I've eaten, unless it looks like it could instantly give me diabetes. I just work out and then eat whatever I want, that usually always solves my weight problems. Then again there are users on here that can't really rely on youth to put off a couple of pounds, so that might be an issue. I personally can not sympathize with people that are subconscious about their weight or appearance because I've never had that issue, because I've noticed that I'm lucky to have a metabolism that is just far superior to everyone that I know. I burn fat like a machine, it is scary at times.

I love to eat. I also binge eat when I am depressed and stressed. I am a social eater - everything fun revolves around going out to eat with friends and family. Holidays also revolve around food.
Been that way my entire life.

I am morbidly obese. Currently I don't have any health problems except sleep apnea - no high blood pressure or cholesterol, no diabetes, no liver or thyroid issues. Slight joint pain and I get a little winded if I have to walk long distances, but I can still walk a couple miles if I need to and can go up and down stairs without keeling over.

I want to lose weight though. You don't really focus on the weight when you are only 50 lbs overweight. At around 200 lbs, I could still go on roller coasters or go horse back riding, and be more physically active.
At 300 lbs, I would love to do those things, but I can't fit on roller coasters. I can't handle walking around the park in 90+ degree weather all day anymore. I can't ride horses - not because I can't get up on one, but because I might hurt the horse.
I can't get pregnant at this weight - because of infertility issues, but also because it wouldn't be safe to me or the baby.
And my father was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. His mother also had diabetes. His sister has hypoglycemia. And I am already insulin intolerant because of having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome...

So anyways - I am planning to lose weight. I already tried LapBand, but I found ways around the restriction and gained back all of what I had lost. I am thinking about something more permanent where I can't cheat the system - possibly Gastric Bypass (that and my LapBand has slipped so I have to have surgery again anyways).

I guess I don't want to be fat anymore. Not for anyone else, but because I am tired of not being able to do the things I want and like to do, more than I will miss food at this point.

I'm at the age where my metabolism has slowed down. I can still eat what I want but I have to be more active to prevent gaining weight. Even just a little extra around the middle just feels physically bad and drives me crazy.

"To be or not to be fat?" That is the question to whether being fat is a good thing or not. Its quite simple really, the process to living a healthier life is most enjoyible because you gain certain advantages that gives you the capability to do more fun and exciting things with your life.

Have any of you thought about the benefits to losing weight?

Eating what I want when I want.
I don't gain much weight anyways, but even if I did, I wouldn't care.
I don't care about my appearance.

I started watching what I eat and started excersing 3 weeks ago because I got tired of being fat (plus I have fat on my liver so I had to go on a diet). It's going well. I've lost 12 pounds and feel good. I'm finally able to run again. I don't starve myself from stuff I like, I just watch how much I eat.

that's like telling a person who has always had to fight obesity to eat healthy and exercise more. It's not that easy. I could eat meat all day and exercise often but gain very little. High metabolism can be nice but it can also keep you from having a healthy weight. Not to mention getting picked on by people all the time

be happy with how you are It's important to stay healthy for the sake of health and not necessarily for weight. ^^ i feel like that as long as you're eating right & doing a little exercise, even if it's just walking, and not binging on junk food then you should be ok. ^^

so eat yer veggies, kids

I have a high metabolism so I usually just eat whatever I want. I do have limits though. I know it'll probably slow down once I get older, but until then I'll continue to eat whatever. lol

I exercise everyday, but I don't really eat healthy because I don't get the minimum amount of calories you're supposed to intake every day, so I'm a little on the skinny side. I also don't have to really watch everything I eat to maintain my weight, just have to make sure I don't go over the calories you're supposed to intake everyday. I have a really fast metabolism too, so that helps with staying thin.

I couldn't ever be fat. My parents work in the medical field and made sure to scare me into daily exercise and all that to stay in decent shape.

Not that being really thin is a better alternative. I used to have problems eating and so on, but I'm better now. I may not eat all that I'm supposed to, but I keep up a decent weight, so there.

#fastmetabolism

If I had to watch my weight all I'd do is eat the necessary calories for the day, and get a little garden with veggies.

I wouldn't want to be fat, I just don't like it. No insult to fat people, I just dislike the idea very much so.

I try to eat healthy. I saw a dude die of a heart attack when I was a wee lad working as a bag boy. No offense intended to his life/death, but it seemed like such a shitty way to die just waiting in line to buy groceries with crummy arteries (I know, I know, that's a totally normal acceptable common way to die). I always thought if I could prevent a normal/boring death like high blood pressure/heart attack then I'll try.

^^^ Vain post is vain.
