I love it. It helps keep track of my anime and which anime I can recommend to friends. I don't use it for anything else other then keeping tracks on things really, but I do know it has other uses as well. As to how good it is overall, I don't really care as long as it keeps serving its current purpose nice and smooth

I'm sorry, I couldn't get past the terrible sentence structure, spelling and grammar in the first post. I might care about what you have to say when you can form a proper sentence.

I use it to keep track of my anime and to look up information I need. I never read the reviews there

Seems like the OP doesn't like it simply because other people have a difference of opinion on anime he likes, in which case I have no idea how you're going to survive in the real world. I think you're grossly missing the point of reviews. If someone doesn't like an anime or thinks it's bad their review would reflect that opinion. It's not about blindly praising anime because you want people to watch more. You wouldn't give a terrible book a good review just because you want people to read more. You wouldn't praise a poem smeared on a wall in shit just to be nice. And I find it very unlikely you've loved, or will love, every single anime you've watched. You must like some more than others, in which case, you'll have some concept of quality, in which case there'll be anime you'll consider bad quality and therefore utter crap.

Now, onto MAL. I mainly use it to keep track of the anime I've watched. I pay very little attention to reviews, and not just on MAL. Everyone likes different things and I have a wide range of things I like, so reviews from other users are of very little value to me.

Your view of the website being "rubbish" is caused by reviews that you dislike? What's wrong with the option of ignoring reviews altogether and/or the particularly negative ones? Also, am I to assume that I hallucinate the positive reviews that I find on the website? I find that most people are fully capable of freely choosing to watch and enjoy anime, regardless of secondhand opinions. Now, if someone were to overlook anime after reading reviews, that's their choice.

I've seen negative reviews on CR. Does that mean that Crunchyroll is rubbish, too? No.

I feel that MyAnimeList is alright. I've hardly visited it, so I've little to nothing to go by.

The site is perfect.

The top reviewers are professional as well. The website itself is neat and easy to go anywhere.

OP's just a rager.

I'm not sure what I just read, but are you complaining about a website simply because there're negative reviews on your favorite anime?

I really don't like MAL not because of the people but because of actual aesthetics of the website itself. It just looks horrible and I can't stand it. So I moved to anilist.co and I'm pretty happy with it. You do run into bugs the odd time but that's due to the fact that the website is still being built. I'd recommend it and if you already have a MAL list, there's an option that let's you transfer it easily.

I do agree that watching an anime based on MAL reviews ain't the best idea. A lot of those reviews are hokum.
I only use MAL to keep track of shows i'm watching/watched and a couple of other things.

Honestly, I LOVE MAL for all the information, the rating, the organization, and easiness of it all.

With that said, stay away from the jerk offs on their forums.

This is not an opinion, this is fact.- The MAL forums are straight trash . Speaking your mind on these forums is a breath of fresh air compared to those ass holes. You literally can't say one thing without some elitist with 10000 posts and his own forum minions ripping you a new asshole.

There are some people on there who literally refuse to post unless they're arguing with someone to the death. The community (with the exception of a few maybe?) on their forums is just garbage.

I use Hummingbird as well, and i quite like it. That being said, i still use MAL as well. I like to have my list at two sites, just in case something should happen with the database on one of the sites. And with Hummingbirds import feature doing so is easy.

Pretty sure OP's post is a giant fuck you to Rule 9 of the site rules.

I mean I can understand it. But no one who wants to be taken seriously types like this dude. You're gonna get less thoughts and opinions on MAL's shittiness and more corrections and people making fun of your horrible typing if that's how you go about doing your shit online.

A few mistakes are perfect. But that first post needs a clean-up.

ON TOPIC: I'm an asshole who values decent and proper English but I think MAL's a piece of crap site as well. Only visit it to find info on animes that CR doesn't show info on or have.

While I understand why you are bashing his English sentence structure let's not forget one thing, It's an opinion. While I don't necessarily read reviews I do write them on anime I re-watch here on CR. That means they are my opinions on the anime I've watched not a fact. This is what the OP failed to understand.

I do understand his point though about people on MAL bashing certain anime that does not need it. Like for example, Accel world. People did not like the anime not based on the story but his appearance. I understand OP frustration but he has to realize that some opinions are Null and void.
Nice profile picture you look nice.

I use MAL for the purpose of tracking and finding new shows. Nothing else, and if CR had any similar functions I would probably use CR instead. I enjoy using MAL because the database is so big and I find everything I need. However the interface/layout is quite outdated and bad.

One thing that I find very awesome about MAL is the fact that you can customize everything more or less. Also there is less restrictive profile design; compared to CR. More information and statistics as well.

It's decent enough for keeping track of anime and manga in my queues. Reviews don't matter much to me, although I occasionally glance at the first couple for a particular show, and I've contributed a few myself.
