Clannad S1 and S2 both subbed and dubbed are on youtube. That's how I watched both seasons.

out of curiosity, how do you lose the rights to have something you'd already gain the rights for??

yeah, I think the companies that owned the rights to it have pretty much stopped supporting the series. So i really don't think they would care much about it being on netflix. Maybe if they get another cheque for it they might consider it, but its kinda pointless to pay for it now.

Kk, I'm going to go demand Dragon Ball, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, Claymore, Angel Beats, etc. They better satisfy me.

Edit: Apparently the person I talked to was a anime fan. I settled for suggesting Cowboy Bebop. She said she sent it to the team. I forgot about suggesting Clannad. :[ ]. But she did say they lost the right to stream some animes (like Clannad) and that the team is working on getting the rights again.

Yes! That's exactly why I'm asking people to request Clannad! Because if more people request, the higher their priority will be for it, and the more obligated they will feel.

It's clear that you don't understand very much (if anything at all about licensing rights) The episodes are not available legally on youtube, they are also not in HD, and I want to stream Clannad to my tv like I used to. I like to use my computer while watching tv.

When licensing agreements are made, they are bound by a contract these licensing contracts are (usually) good for 3 years (unless more or less time is agreed upon when the contract is being made) Once the contract expires the offeror (Netflix) loses publishing rights. Netflix will often choose to renew the agreement if the media in question is popular or has some demand, if not, Netflix will usually choose not to renew the contract (if they don't think it's popular). Although sometimes the copyright owners (Sentai Filmworks) choose not to renew the rights for their own reasons, even if Netflix wants to.

Although I don't know which one of these scenarios is the case for Clannad.

well they don't seem to care about it being legal or not. They would take it off youtube if they really cared about the property. They would also try to sell netflix the licence to the show so they can make more money.

Hulu has sub only SD versions.
Anime Network has the dub as well, but I'm not a subscriber so I don't know if it's HD or not. So there are legal streams, they just aren't so hot when you consider that HD versions have been on a certain popular website for years now without having been taken down.

I've also realized after watching a little bit of the sub now how low quality the dub is. Nagisa and Tomoya are decent but almost every other character either sounds too old or too young. It's weird and off putting.

If you are an Amazon Prime member, Amazon streaming had Clannad last time I looked. They don't have the best interface for finding content, but they have some anime that isn't available elsewhere.

Yes, they have HD of both Clannad and After Story for their subscribers.

Whether one is a subscriber or not, you can view their alphabetical index and quickly see which shows are HD, which have a dub, and which have subtitles, as they use color dots beside each title as indicators for each.

As a side note:
Some of the TAN HD dots are not exactly accurate.
Divergence Eve ( and Misaki Chronicles) for example, they have an HD dot, and indeed, the TAN player allows you to select the HD option.
However, the HD stream is, in actuality, an HQ stream, since Divergence Eve has never had a JP HD conversion.

It was at one time, but isn't currently.

At the moment, I don't see a single Sentai licensed series there:
