I am not trying to start a fight or anything I just wanna discuss anti-feminism and why it should be supported. Most feminist like to tell anyone who would identify as such a misogynist which in my opinion is like a nazi saying you only disagree with them because you hate white people. Personally I am an anti-feminist because I fail to see Neofeminism do anything towards actual gender issues and are more focused solely on giving women more advantages in life. The issue is sometimes the issues they are "solving" are not in anyway real or other times are either directly dis empowering or are simply ignoring the rights of men.

I don't support any arm chair activists, especially when they are protesting against the most pathetic things.

There are parts of India where gangrape is an accepted punishment against women for certain crimes. Parts of the Middle East where if a women is sitting in a car without a man you are allowed to rape her, but so called 'Tumblr Feminists' are protesting the lack of dongs in Game of Thrones.

If you're going to call yourself a feminist, actually be a feminist, because otherwise you just tarnish the name of actual feminists who are working hard via actual protest to make a difference.

Well first off, you came to this tread of your own devices. Secondly this tread is suppose to be a place of discussion of a particular viewpoint anyone who has a problem with that does not have to be here.

The point of anti-feminism is to attempt to take on the horrible things that occur in the feminism scene in an effort to revives proper feminism that actually helps women who are wronged rather then just supremacy and media entitlement modern neofeminism seems to love so much.Good ideas will always beat bad ideas in the end its just a matter of time and energy.

Better no idea then the wrong idea I guess.

PS: I am not saying this as a personal attack or anything but whats with all the people on the CR forums that post on treads about how the topic of the tread is of no interest to them.

Well a lot of feminists are the sexist ones themselves. They seem to demand that every video game and movie star a female character and companies should go out of their way to make a character female. Wot? A lot of them also just contradict themselves. For instant a saw a video of a feminist complaining about females being seen as objects and sex tools on Mass Effect because you can have sex with them but if they did any research they'd know you can have sex with males too. A lot of feminist don't seem to be fighting for equality, they seem to be fighting for superiority. Sexifying a woman in a videogame or movie is wrong but if it's a male oh ho ho who cares.

im an anti feminist because theres too many feminists out there who totally contradict themselves
you're supposed to fight for EQUAL rights not better rights
yet i bet every feminist will still squeal in disgust if a boy hit them because 'YOU CANT HIT ME, IM A GIRL'
and they'll still expect a door to be held open for them or a chair to be pulled out, usually on the basis of 'because im a lady'.

obviously not all women/feminist are like this, but yeah.
myself, if i hit a boy, let the boy hit me back.
i'll hold a door or anyone, as should other people.
i dont need/expect special treatment or rules 'because im a girl'

feminism quite often sucks ass.
good thread.

This is far to true. What is it with feminist and saying one thing is sexist because it occurs to women, despite it not being discriminate towards women. Also for a group that likes to call men "entitled" they certain expect a lot from media which is even sillier because they are so happy to attack anything that involves women in the media. I mean they are drawing a line and threatening artists who dare cross it then getting upset when no one dances on the line.

I don't mind the concept of females being treated equally, what I hate is that a lot of feminists fight for female superiority and seem to hate men. They're also hard to win with, especially on the gaming scene and oh boy do you see a LOT of feminism articles written these days (mostly by men, ironically). In games, you have a lot of women and it's passed off as masturbation material for men, you don't have enough and they're being under-represented. So yeah, I don't mind the concept, but a lot of feminists go about achieving said equality in the wrong way and make the entire concept look idiotic. I think there was one story of two guys who cracked a sexist joke between themselves, one woman overheard it, and she took them to court over that one joke. Stuff like that really just doesn't help paint equality in a positive light.

This is in no way insightful feed back but I find it funny how anti-feminist have to admit not all feminist are a problem. When feminism mock the idea that "not all men " is a valid point. But O/c we are the sexists.

Let me rephrase... I don't care which side of the fence people are on. It's not that I have no interest in the topic. It is just a controversial topic, so by stating I don't care I am usually safer (not always of course) because people will realize trying to convert me onto their side would be a lost cause.

To go into even more detail here for this topic: I am neither a feminist nor anti feminist. Both groups have their faults, both bring up good points about what happens to and around them. But like all other groups similar to them, they have more faults than good points generally and being a part of them is quite a hassle.

IF I were to choose one or the other I would probably lean closer to Anti-Feminism due to the fact that the most vocal of Feminist groups don't care for equal rights, they want to be put on a pedestal that no one can touch while they put down, scold, and abuse the rest of us. These vocal groups tend to drown out the better feminist groups, sometimes even starting fights with other feminist groups because they do not agree with their ideals. Won't even get into the anti-feminist groups because they are seen as the bad guy in these scenarios no matter the feminist.

I do not think it is the same story but two men at a convention made a joke about a some hardware having a name that sounded like it was innuendo for male genitals. A women with a decent sized twitter following over heard and instead of ignoring them like she should have or if she really was so fragile this hurt her in her soul she could have done something like ask them to keep it down or to not make similar comments in front of others or spoke with convention staff she chose to upload a photo of them on twitter instead resulting in a father losing his source of income. Feminists seem to expect the whole world to adhere to their values perfectly, perhaps that is why they feel so oppressed because reality happens to exist?

You have more to say then your original comment implied I guess. Well I am glad I wanted this tread to be a place of discussion because lets face it no real politics are gonna happen here. I as a person think for myself ( I like to think I do) I call myself an anti-feminist not to Identify with other anti-feminists but to simply show my support for my disgust for feminism. It may not be objective but I think feminist has spoiled over the years and needs to be fixed before it gets any power. However that is not the case. I am an anti-feminist to combat bad ideas I do not care who hates me because of it, Heck feminist general over use of slandering and accusing just makes being an anti-feminist so much easier a position to argue.

Oh man, another one, huh? I must say, I don't think it's fair to say all feminists are like that, though. There are some perfectly reasonable women with male friends who just like equal treatment, though I don't really treat them differently to anyone else anyway. But yeah, I think the main problem is that it's a lot of the asshole feminists that are the ones that get all the coverage and get out there which paints a really bad image of everyone else. It's like saying all hillbillies are representative of people with guns, or all PC Master Race and console fanboys are representative of gamers.Though I feel that gender inequality is going to be a lot like racism. You can try and enforce it all you want, but those who want to be against women being treated completely equally won't be talked around. Those who WILL treat women like average humans probably already do so. Obviously they'll need to be treated differently to men sometimes. I mean, whichever way you cut it we're not completely the same. We're different genders with different bodies. To say we're the same in that respect would be stupid, so I think the division of male and female should remain. I'll admit there are a few problems surrounding the whole matter, but I think the fact it's the aptly named 'feminazis' getting all the coverage that makes it look terrible. Just like how the media tries to blame murder on games, music, and art choices.
